Maybe a bit light on both of those offers.

I'd think both offers would require a further pick, like a 2023 3rd or 2024 2nd at least for Domi, and a maybe make the 2024 5th a 2024 4th.

Both those guys, if available, coming so cheap with retention will be highly sought after.

(And based on you making 1 the 1LW and the other the 2LD, those are underpayments)

The Isles, assuming they end up snagging a WC seed, will have a hard enough time getting out of the first round, let alone winning the cup. As it stands, they would be set to face either Carolina or Boston, and neither of those matchups look to be favorable for the Isles. The only way I see the Isles progressing out of the first round is if NJ takes the M1 seed (Isles take WC1), or the Isles snag a divisional seed, which neither of those scenarios are likely.

Probably true though I do think the isles have earned themselves some slack if they can get into the playoffs they can make a run. Probably not to the cup (which would almost for sure mean someone else taking out Boston) but I do think they’re a bit underrated and certainly built for playoff hockey.

I would be all over that gavrikov trade tho CBJ wouldn’t do it. As for domi he’s someone I would be interested in but I wouldn’t move holmstrom for him. Simon will be a very effective cheap role player for years. Rather just throw a pick at domi and forget gavrikov

Holmstrom isn't worth enough to get Domi straight up, let alone with retention.

Is it crazy that I'd rather face the Bruins than the Canes if the Isles sneak into the wild card slot? For whatever reason the Canes always destroy the Islanders, but whenever the Bruins come to town it's usually very competitive.

As far as the trades:

-Both sides should decline this. Chicago would most likely get a better prospect/pick package for Domi with retention, and the Isles shouldn't trade one of their few NHL-caliber U23 player for a rental. I think there's a sense of prospect fatigue around Holmstrom, because the 2019 draft feels like it was 50 years ago, but he's still only 21 years old and on his ELC. With the big contracts that have been signed recently, they're going to need solid players like him to fill out the roster.

-Kill the retention because you don't need it here; but I also think that CBJ gets a better offer. Gavrikov is probably the premier LHD available at this year's deadline, so someone will pony up a 1st rounder for him. The 5th is minimal value, and Wilde at this point is the same.

Not worth a first, so assume isles would just walk away.
