Locked on Leafs Roster

Created by: BMHockey90
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 9, 2023
Published: Feb. 9, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It's aggressive however it's been since 2004 since we had any play of success.

Key benefits of this trade:
4 centres 50% on the face off's deep a for possession based team
All players have term or are RFA's other then Gudas
Top two lines are setup for the next two year window.

Cons
Defensive depth is a little weak however have Topi Niemela coming to the AHL
Cap is still very tight but removed 2 UFA's and 1 RFA my suggestion is to buyout Murray or trade Nylander

Preds pass. Robertson has little to no value and McMann is a downgrade on Jeannot

What possible explanation can you come up with for why the Canucks would accept that?

Canucks obviously decline. Kerfoot is a rental who has no use to Vancouver, and Hollowell isn't anywhere close to Podkolzin in value. One of them is an AHL defensemen who will be at best a 3rd pair guy, while the other is a somewhat recent top 10 pick who had a great rookie season but hit a bit of a sophomore slump.

How about Knies for Pearson and Kalynuk?

Preds pass. Robertson has little to no value and McMann is a downgrade on Jeannot

Robertson is only 21 years (yes with injury history) but has the same shot as his brother in Dallas (35+ goal scorer) Updated could be with Alex Steves or SDA and a 3rd pick. Jeannot has only 20% of his production from last year.

Podkolzin accidently got his first goal after 30+ games. Kerfoot a Vancouver native has 30+ points every season and an excellent penalty killer which Canucks desperately need and can play centre in a pinch and prospect Dman for future rebuild.

Canucks counter with Liljegren for Justin Dowling

Justin Dowling is a 2 inch shorter player with a 1/4 of game experience and 1/4 points of the player I'm trading in Kerfoot and definitely a not a young up and coming RD. Dowling wouldn't get claimed of waivers. Little insulting sorry!

You’re hyping up Robertson who has 3 career goals in 31 games, yet saying Podkolzin has little to no value because of a sophomore struggle (even though he scored 14 goals last year)

Kerfoot has no value to the Canucks. We have no use for a 28 year old pending UFA, especially at the cost of one of our most promising young players

Why?

Cause you’re not getting a 70 point winger and a decent d man for a good young d man and. A very late pick engvall has absolutely no value to Florida. Would you trade nylander before this season he’s having for the package above?
