That Colorado trade makes zero sense. Byram has proven the same amount of NHL talent as Johnson has

That avs trade doesn’t make any sense

They don’t touch that with a 10 foot pool

Did Johnson show he can be an impact player in the cup finals bc byram showers he can be a lock down dman in the Stanley cup playoffs

Oh right byram is in the nhl and Johnson hasn’t played a game yet . You are really under valuing how good byram is.

Farabee had the same neck surgery in the offseason that Eichel had and it took Eichel about an year to return to his old form so I wouldn't say he has plateaud but rather he is still recovering from the surgery. If there is no improvement next year he could be more open to a trade but right now they are not trading him.

As much as Foligno would be welcomed back by fans because of his physical play and local roots, it's highly unlikely that Adams will forfeit a 24-year old & a 3rd round pick for a 32-year old 3rd line winger.

For that kind of high-end package to Philly, I'd rather take Konecny, who would move the needle for the Sabres by providing the kind of agitating, gritty and skilled winger they don't have on the roster or in the system. And he's 25 and on a reasonable contract.

Sure it makes sense. The avs have no cap space and he has a troubled injury history. This is very real value for a player who has played under 100 games in 3 years and also needs a new contract. You may disagree and not like it, but it's a valid concept

Check again. They have cap space space to sign
Byram, you gave him a 3m aav, you are acting like they can’t make moves to afford that which is just ridiculous

Byram is an impact player when healthy, 3m isn’t scaring the avs away , in fact that contract would be doing them
A favour

Ok, let's just for argument's sake say the Avs were thinking about moving Byram. That offer does not do it and the Avs can easily sign him at the AAV on here so why would they trade him?

It’s not. Byram has proven in the Cup playoffs he isn’t just a top pairing dman but #1 dman capable, a 21yr old with a 61CF. The Avs would literally trade every other dman beside Makar before moving him, and as Coga mentioned 3x3 would be such an easy contract to fit under the cap next year. Honestly it’s laughable to even think the Avs would do it. And for his injury history he got unlucky with the knee injury but is back.

Because his career has been decimated by injuries and its an enticing offer?

I understand an avs fan or the avs saying that he's too good to trade, well gamble that the injuries are behind him, but it's not the craziest idea in the world. It would be a gamble on both sides of the trade, if he plays the same amount of games the next 3 years that he has these past 3 years it's a terrible trade for buffalo

Minus the hyperbole, I understand NOT doing it. But it's not the craziest thing in the world to understand doing it. Trading FOR him has risks. It's not just one knee injury one time.

Anywho, I was just taking the idea out for a spin

At this point Flyers shouldn't trade Farabee since they would be selling low on him. Rather keep him around and see what happens. If he doesn't show progress next season they maybe time to move on but not now.

I think you’re missing that this isn’t an enticing offer. Avs are in win now mode so picks and prospects doesn’t really help them. Especially a prospect that’s on the verge of being free to move to which ever club he chooses.

This would assume he signs obviously.

Anywho, just exploring the idea of taking a risk from buffalo's part.

But look at it from COL prospective. COL isn’t going to be able to add a talent like him that, that is cost controlled (regardless of the injury) in the next decade. The package for Byram would have to overwhelming for COL to consider and a package that includes a guy just like Merkley and a mid round 1st isn’t remotely worth doing.

1. It hasn't.
2. It's not.

Making up things to fit a narrative is silly!
