Ryan McDonagh is a cap dump and he's not waiving his NTC for Ottawa.

Both the Sens and McDonagh decline.

Try again.

That Pittsburgh trade is bad for the Pens.

I don’t have an issue with any of these return, but I bet a few other teams do.

The McDonagh deal is the main one that I just can’t see happening. I’d guess PIT declines too

Why would COL send their only pick in the first 5 rounds for a guy that makes more money and has fewer points than Compher?

This trade makes no sense whatsoever for the Pens. None.

Here's what makes sense from the Pens' side.

Dumoulin and Heinen for cap purposes and to free up the roster spot to make room for Ekholm.

TO NSH: Dumoulin, Heinen, Ty Smith, Valtteri Puustinen, 2nd Round Pick
TO PIT: Ekholm

It just makes no sense. POJ is cheap, good, and young. Losing Zucker hurts has been a great top 6. I'd have no problem upgrading from Dumo, but he isn't even involved in this deal.

This trade makes the Pens worse.
