Samberg should be a permanent fixture in the lineup.

Chychrun is not a fit in Winnipeg. You can take the 1st in that deal, and use that for a Meier package instead, and that would work.

I'd take the Chicago trade.

Its equivalent to a top D prospect, a random prospect, a first, 2-2nds and a 5th.

What else are you looking for? lol

Heinola, Ville = Meh NHL D so far, maybe worth a second if a team likes him
Pionk, Neal = Bottom pair 27 year old
Vesalainen, Kristian [Reserve List] = Nothing
2023 5th round pick (NYR) = A fifth
2024 2nd round pick (WPG) = a late second

This isnt close to a top prospect, first and young NHLer

The ask would be Lucius/Mcgroarty, 2023 first, Samberg

What the hell are you on to think that’s the return your sending? Heinola is maybe worth a 2nd. Pionk is washed, vesalainen isn’t even North America because he can’t play hockey. And no 1st anywhere.

Not sure what you are on but if Poink was traded to a team that needed a RD, he would get a 1st and a 2nd, he has term and is a whole lot better than the TDL guys who get firsts because they are Dmen.

That is where im going with this return

He makes almost $6 mil, he isn’t worth that at all. Doesn’t fit San Jose’s need for futures either. Makes zero sense to take junk for your best forward.

Counter offer here:
San Jose gets: Pierre luc Dubois

Winnipeg gets: Matt Benning, Sasha Chmelevski, Artemi Kniazev and a 2nd

This defense desperately needs an upgrade like Chycrun, seriously outside of Morrissey is there any current Jets dmen that are true top 4 dmen??

I wouldn't bother with the Schenn trade that's posted here, could use some muscle but wouldn't waste Salomonsson on a 3rd pair rental.

I believe the fit talk is more on having to probably move a left handed defenseman to fit him on his natural side over not having the need for his abilities. Kind of opens up a little can of worms unless you’re willing to run him on the off side with morrissey. Would like a leftside of morrissey, chyrunn,Dillon, samberg. But that leaves a ton to be desired on the other side of pionk demelo Schmidt heinola. Damn where’s the myers/buffy/trouba of years past.

Someone will just have to play on their offhand, there's just no top 4 RHD available, guess I'm in the minority of Jets fans but I just don't think this defense is good enough to win a cup with.

Laine buffy light from a cup, got to have a gun that can carry a team through stretches, and a physical force that can eat a bunch of minutes. Ya offside is an option for sure, just seems a little left side heavy especially with not being a short term solution.

Hoping there is a under the radar rhd dman add, or possibly loading up upfront and some how pulling a cup with a mediocre blueline like pit did a few years back, definitely don’t have the hedman makar types to truly compete that way. Hopefully the kid gloves are off for Chevy and he makes some big boy moves that can wrattle the franchise at its base if it goes wrong. Team really should be on a two year get at sort of window and possibly throw caution to the wind and lose some guy for nothing in two summers. But that’s not how this organization works.

What’s your thoughts on a timo Meier add, then have both him and Dubois headaches this off-season?

I would argue that both Demelo and Dillon are top 4 guys, but as pairings for legit guys like MOrrisey. Kind of like a Marc Methot to Karlsson or Robyn Regher to Doughty

Neither are or were worth the headache.. lol

I say trade for guys with term like Schmaltz and Chycrun so there's no negotiation required.

MAYBE on a 2nd pair but not on a top pair, unless his partner was prime Lindstrom or Hedman I don't see DeMelo as a top pair dman on a contender, even on a 2nd pair they'd be on the lower end of one, if only we had a Pesce or H.Lindholm.. lol
