So the Oilers trade two RHD for yet another lefty, doesn't make much sense for them imo and they shouldn't trade Bouchard.

You think Ekholm is getting the similar return as people think EK is getting? There's no chance Bouchard is in an Ekholm trade without like Tomasino coming the other way.

I think maybe you get the 1st one for one, adding all those pieces is just way way too much.

It's a Muzzin-style package which he gets back. He's on contract for 4 years and should easily fetch a 1st, 2nd and Yamamoto+ from EDM. I'm not sure which other players/prospects would be coming back as I'm not an Oilers follower.

except Muzzin was 2-3 years younger and not on a 6.25M (you retained so 5.625M) contract taking him to age 35

bouchard is also easily better than any player involved in that Muzzin deal. If you're about to bring up Durzi keep in mind he was just a late 2nd round pick at the time, not the NHLer he is today or anywhere really close to that

Where is this absurd value on Ekholm coming from?? The guy is a solid defenseman, but at 33, and 6.25 M? I'm thinking Nashville could get a 1st and a decent prospect, but some of the trades are brutal.
