And to think Huberdeau hasn't even started his 8 year $10.5 AAV contract yet.

LOL

Fire both GM and coach.

I'd love Lindholm but I think the Avs decline if it's Newhook AND the '23 1st. Make it Newhook and the '24 1st and I'd say do it.

If Treliving is spiraling half as bad as this poster Flames are in trouble. We will trade for Lindy if the mood strikes!

Apparently they're shopping for Chychrun, in the market for a solid dman to fill in the ranks. If they can't land him, Tanev is older and doesn't produce nearly as much, but is also cheaper and an extremely solid shutdown dman, also for half the cap if Calgary retains 50%. Also one of the rare Flames who can actually perform in the playoffs. Very good for the Bruins if they don't want to overspend on other options.

Lindholm, grzelcyk, forbort.

No real fit.

If you watch the team you understand this is the most pathetic Flames team since 2013-14. No effort, no spirit, just a bunch of cheap shots on net to make it seem like they're dominating games when in reality they're losing to teams like Ottawa, Detroit, Philadelphia, Chicago, Montreal, Vancouver, Columbus. We need to accept that we're never going to make the playoffs with this core, especially as Huberdeau's 10.5 million dollar contract for 15 goals a season kicks in. Send everybody packing and get the biggest haul you can while the core's still under the age of 32.

Toronto just got obliterated by the Hawks. Calgary is not the only team that plays down to their opponents level.

Have the Flames been inconsistent game to game? Yes. Can that be fixed come playoff time? Absolutely. You are overreacting

You're gonna have to overspend on a first line center like Lindholm, they don't grow on trees. He'd nearly guarantee a threepeat in Denver.

The main issue is that Toronto has a future, Calgary doesn't. If a wild card spot is the best we can do with our core at this age, we're in trouble. The entire top 6, especially Huberdeau, Kadri and Toffoli are only going to regress with age, they're already all close to 30 or older. Tanev is 33, Markstrom 33, Coleman 31. The team is only going to get worse and worse and worse, and the boys are only going to lose value. We're awful to watch as is, and are not going to get an ounce better 2-4 years down the line.

Oh for sure I'm not saying he's not worth that in a vaccuum, but I think Colorado would decline if it's the '23 1st. They'd probably rather another prospect or pick than give up both the '23 1st and Newhook. Lindholm only having two years and being 30 at the end of the contract just puts them back in a Kadri situation 2 years down the line with no Newhook to bring along so they'd want to keep one of Newhook or the '23 1st in a deep draft to potentially have a young C to come in. The idea with a 2C for Colorado is more insurance (against Newhook not becoming their future 2C) and insulation for Newhook until he's ready to assume that mantle. I only see them giving up both those pieces for a younger guy with term.

You are being too much of a defeatist my friend

Think of those guys as being in their current Primes instead of putting them out to pasture already

We’re a couple moves and a click away from being a better team. We’ll probably squeak in to the Playoffs this year and we’ll see how we do

As for TOR having more of a future, that’s just not true. Will Austin Matthews re-sign and have you seen their Depth Chart and Upcoming Available Draft Picks!? CGY’s got the best AHL Team in the league with very good prospects coming up soon. CGY’s future looks better than TOR’s imo

Have You Seen How Old The Bruins Players Are!?

I don’t think a single one of those players make any sense at all.
