I cant really say what the value for Evangelista is. Probably a B tier prospect. He wont go anywhere, he’s a part of our future

I can't see habs shoping Kovacevic as of right now but in two years we will be looking for a younger rhd or goalie prospect!

Same chance at Terry as there is at Dahlin or Power. Sure, it's POSSIBLE to construct a package which might get one of them (Toronto could offer you a disgruntled Matthews), but as a practical matter, it won't happen.

Please note: I'm NOT saying Terry = Dahlin or Terry = Power.

By the way, why are you shopping for a RhD from a division rival short on that side when you could be looking for one from the Discount RD Store?

BUF 2023 2nd round pick for Kovacevic
Big stay at home physical 6’5 dman making $766,667 for another 2 years
25 yo +3 in a bottom 10 team
MTL have no reason to trade him unless it’s something valuable and we are sending him to a division rival
So I would hope PHI 2023 2nd but can’t see it happening in that draft. So BUF 2nd would be the price IMO

Because as the name suggests, discount RD store is kinda trash lol.

I like Kovacevic's game and contract.

On Terry, we'll see. He's an RFA, and idk what ANA plan is long term + the $ they want to spend during a rebuild/whether Terry wants to stay there. Im sure it would take an overpay, but I think its more possible than you are leading on.

Thanks! Wasnt sure what direction NSH wants to head in. Full rebuild or temporary retooling like STL.

Chytil would be 2 1sts or a 1st and an equivalent level prospect.

Matt Roy, Sean Durzi, Jordan Spence, Helge Grans and even Sean Walker are far superior to their comparable opposites you have on that side who isn't lefty Rasmus Dahlin.

They're only seemingly better by reputation. In reality they are marginal upgrades to Jokiharju when he doesnt get insane minutes. Its not worth the difference of paying a 1st rounder plus just to do that. Especially since Power will carry that pair regardless.

Cap crunch, disinterest in rebuild, mis-valuation. All of these except maybe terry are far more realistic than every sabres fans "can i give you mitts and 2nd for saros?!" ACGM's

Okay, I see the problem -- you think that Matt Roy and Sean Durzi would only be a "marginal upgrade" on Jokiharju. Okay, thanks.

This sentence was already dripping with passive aggressive tone, you didn't need the " " around marginal upgrade to make your point lol.

The Sabres play a style of hockey that is completely opposite to the kings. This isnt a possession team Roy and Durzi would struggle under granato. They need a d-man who can handle the chaos. Thats why I was interested in Kovacevic, cause hes holding his own on a team that doesn't defend period.

Your need to hit Verbeek with a massive offer for TT if you wanted to trade for him, talking Meier plus some possibility since he isn’t on the trade block

Where is Kovacevic playing, like him but can he handle the minutes if he plays with Power.

Well the Meier deal was kinda underwhelming so I wouldn't mind this. I assume itd have to be someone with more upside than Zetterlund and the low 1st they got.

When the D-core is healthy Jokiharju gets between 16-18 mins, which is about what Kovacevic is getting. Joker's TOI is skewed because he spent some time out of the lineup, and part of his time while healthy playing way more minutes than he should be due to other injuries.

Cozens is a year younger with better numbers though, and is already signed to a deal. Not sure thats a fair comparison. Chytil plays on the third line and the Rangers have negative cap space. He's valuable, but he's not Cozens valuable IMO. But I did ask and recognize why he's important to the Rangers. I suppose Im hoping most don't recognize that lol. Thanks though.

True, Joker isn't the Partner for Power. But I would think you would try and find him a Partner that can atleast play 20-21 solid minutes or proven they can do it.

I think its irrelevant re: the mins/experience. That pair is going as far as Power takes it. And he can take it far. I dont need a star next to him, since that guy will be a passenger anyways. Just need someone who can keep up, at a reasonable price.

Chytil is not for sale, Drury would want a drastic overpay to move him tbh. Id say hes worth similar to dach as hes getting better, wouldn't say hes worth EXACTLY what dach is worth tho, just def similar.

I mean you can say virtually the same statement about any RFA in the league on every team in the league but just because us casual fans say it doesn't put any weight behind it.

On the other hand actions like the team putting an 'A' on Terry's sweater recently and all the comments we see in the media from the org and Terry himself about him being a huge part of the future in Anaheim says the opposite.

Also in regards to spending a bunch of money on Terry, well the cap floor makes that a no-brainer choice. The team HAS to spend the money. They can either give a waste of time cap dump / UFA 7 million (aka Klingberg) or they can give that same 7 million to a player that's earned it and deserves it. To think the team is going to cheap out on Terry is being a little bit dumb about it. Or maybe just calling it wishful thinking is better since that's all you want is to have Terry become available for no real reason.

I mean, yeah I would. Team goes through a full rebuild everyone is going to ask about RFA's who aren't too far away from UFA status. Im not even suggesting the ANA would cheap out on Terry, just that the may find it better long term to collect a ton of assets for him then spend the money again when they are in a competitive window. Several teams have done this during their rebuild. I don't deny that it would take a major overpay, but that's kind of the point. A compelling offer would compel them to at least discuss it lol
