I’d be okay with that trade. Don’t think the Sabres would do the other one though.

Sabres really have no reason to make that trade

Hanifin is a okay defender he is definitely a top two defender on most teams and dube is only 24 he’s having a great year on a otherwise struggling offence side for the flames and top line of him tage and skinner or another good goal scorer would be nasty and for the return if the sabres make the playoffs this year I think the owners will want to win know and this isn’t like trading young guys for vets it’s trading young guys for players who are entering their primes but they are both on expiring contracts after the 2023 2024 season so I don’t know and the Carolina return seems fair a vet for another slightly younger player and some defensive help and a first for our leading goal scorer isn’t bad

The owners will be in win mode if they make the playoffs and dube and hanifin aren’t old they are actually young and probably about to enter their primes dube is 24 and hanfin is 25 and could definitely be a top pairing with power for a bit and dube can be on the top line with tage and skinner and that would be disgusting so I don’t know why you think this is a unfair trade if you want to win now then you have to give up young players and that deal is good if you are thinking on age you guys can do this deal lock up dube and hainfin without worrying about them falling off any time soon because they are in there mid 20’s I could’ve given you toffoil for one of those players and that’s a bad trade age wise.

Sabres don't need another offensive LD. They beds a shut down rd so spending assets for hanifin doesn't makes sense. Dube could make sense but not at that price. Peterka has solidified his roster spot so he probably won't get moved and Savoie is a stud.

Wow that is an excellent offer for Savoie.
All scouting reports indicate that he could be as good as Power or Cozens.
On the other hand Dube is an NHL performer while Savoie is still a prospect.
Hanifin would give the Sabres four good LHD for Peterka and Jost.
If that deal was made at the TDL, Buffalo could have coasted into the playoffs.

Buffalo would still pass as next season Ryan Johnson will join the defense and Peterka will improve and they will have Savoie for the future.
It is a very good offer that would definitely make the Sabres better this year, Buffalo would prefer to better in two year.
Buffalo would most likely pass.

That is the worst serious trade I've ever seen on CF. You arent getting a blue chip prospect and a very good rookie forward for a defenseman Buffalo doesnt need (hes not a RHD) and a forward having a career season
