Dont think resigning Murray makes much sense unless he wins us a playoff series or two but i think the Matthews and Nylander contracts could come in around that number
GarthBrooks and JackSC87 liked this.

Imo Samsonov comparable to ottinger when he signed (so 4 mil)
And O’Reilly Iunno if he’d sign that little to stay unless he fell off cause he’s only 32

I bet Matthews and Nylander get less. 9.5 and 13.5 will be what they get I bet.

Samsonov needs to prove a lot more than 30+ games to get big money. Unless he's the con Smythe winner in a cup run, he won't get big money. It's too risky and he's shown some cracks over his career.

Why do you guys think Matthews will get $14,500,000 when MacKinnon just signed for $12,600,000?

- Their contract start dates are only 1 year apart.
- MacKinnon is outplaying Matthews this year, and he won a cup last year.
- The cap is currently almost exactly the same as when Matthews signed his last extension.
- Matthews has already vastly out earned MacKinnon for the past 5 years (by like $5,300,000 per year).

My guess would be:

- Matthews = $12,700,000 x 8 (he pulls a MacKinnon to become the new highest paid player).
- Nylander = $9,500,000 x 8 (he doesn't have a 10 million track record yet, but if he waits until next year he'll get it).

Matthews is getting 13 or over for sure, he's done more than McKinnon at a younger age so we'll want more. And then McDavid will be the first to ever 14 in a season the year after. Then maybe Bedard passes him if he's super successful.

The problem is Matthews and Nylander need new contracts before the cap goes up that much.

And as you can see that’s not a problem.

Lost a top 6 player, 4th line is garbage, if monahan is going that cheap it means he had a **** year so your 3rd line is also not great, that defensive core is also pretty bad, considering you don't have a true stud, you only have 3 top 4 caliber players back there, also missing a roster spot and I don't think the cap goes that high

2 of the players on the 4th line already I’ve played a lot of games for us. If Minten and Hirvonen are worth anything they need to be in the lineup. Monahan is worth 3M max. And why wouldn’t the cap go up 4 million? The debts the league has will be fully paid back. I would imagine west case scenario it goes up 3 million.

Bally sports bankrupt.

Holmberg and Aston Reese are AAAA players, Hirvonen and Minten aren't great prospects, and minten will only be 20, wouldn't expect much out of him
