I agree that Askarov is going to take an huge package to get him, however i dont think what you proposed is an overpay. Primeau has fizzled out as a prospect, Struble is still a big question mark as to whether he will be a full time NHLer, Harris and a first is the main attractive pieces there and i think it would atleast take Kidney on top of that and probably still doesnt get much traction from Nashville.

Josh Anderson is not worth a 1st OR Pelletier, let alone both

Josh Anderson + Sean Farell + 2nd FOR either Pelletier (or a 1st Round Pick) + Mattias Emilio-Pettersen would be more appropriate, but then CGY would need to move other players out who are better than Josh Anderson, so no

Edmundson wouldn't make the roster, and Neimelainen is bigger.

You may want to revisit Gurianov's salary.. I think there's a typo.. 23M$/yr for 3 yrs .. LOL!

Had to say it.. Everyone else are complaining about the trades.. I don't judge your move. Just that signature! LOL!

"CGY will have to find a way to create more cap"

So they trade a player on an ELC AND a 1st to take on an overpaid player aka more cap?

Absolutely. But this is a strategic offer sheet to make sure Dubois gets a 1 year contract which will make him a UFA next year

No, he's a 0.40PPG 3rd Line Winger, who's Best Attributes are his Size, Grit & Right Shot and the Fact he can Score 15-20 Goals when Healthy. The Cons are he's injury prone and getting older, so he's on track to become Lucic 2.0

This will be his final peak year with MTL and, mark my words, will never score 20+ Goals or 0.45PPG+ ever again in his career

Pelletier by comparison s already Better than Anderson in Every Way (Except Size & Physicality) and should become a 0.50-0.67PPG+ Player by next season and could become a 0.67-1.00PPG+ for the next 7-8 seasons after that. CGY would be lucky to get 1-2 more decent seasons from Josh Anderson, if they're lucky, but again his health & play will start to quickly deteriorate and drop off, just like Milan Lucic's did. We don't want another 4th Line Cap Anchor making over $5mil/yr again. No Thanks!

    Ah, got it.
Still an overpay and still doesn't make sense to take him on when they are cap strapped.

@st_donik That and we do have Blake Coleman and Walker Duehr, who's comparable to Zack Hyman.

Kadri, Dube & Mangiane aren't as Big, but they don't mind getting Gritty & Physical at all either

We could always just bring back Brett Ritchie for $775k and/or re-sign his Brother Nick for $775k-1.375mil/yr and will get the same production as Josh Anderson for 1/7-1/4 the Cost and not be left stuck with the last 2 years of a $5.5mil/yr under performing 4th Line/Healthy Scratch Player & Contract. Pending UFA's James Van Rymsdyk, Adam Erne and Garnet Hathaway would all be Better & Cheaper Short-Term Options as well
