I'd send Fantilli back to college for a year and tank let the kids all play and collect another top ten pick.

I think that's why it's called Draft Lottery Miracle. smile

or...let's make sure that when a team leaps 10 picks to #1 over the Wings we make sure that when the Wings finish 10th from the bottom they can't do the same...

I was arguing with some NJD fan that their team's success has a lot to deal with the lottery. Thought that wasn't a hot take but I guess it was.

No it isn't. It was obvious at the time Jagr was the better player.

I wasn't even an idea in my parent's heads at that time so I wouldn't know.

Scotty Bowman was working for the Pens at the time. Even he said "We got the best player in the draft."

Petr Nedved was picked before Jagr. He pointed at Jagr and told a reporter "Don't tell anyone but he's better than me."

The odds of Detroit moving up 9 spots to take Fantili is virtually 0%. We just can't get that lucky unfortunately.

I could see Bettman making up a new rule at the draft lottery where Detroit somehow ends up picking 32nd.

I don't know if you believe they can move up to the #2OA is the #1OA really that unbelievable?

I'm just hoping we don't fall back any spots.

Even if Detroit won the draft lottery Gary would declare it to be null and void. A do over would happen. He's still pissed Mister I wouldn't give him the Hockeytown name and that he wouldn't shake his hand after the 2009 SCF.

"New Jersey knows how to re-build better than Detroit" - Devils fans.

Detroit
2017. should have picked 7th. actually picked 9th. F***ing way she goes.
2018. should have picked 5th. actually picked 6th. F***ing way she goes.
2019. should have picked 4th. actually picked 6th. F***ing way she goes.
2020. should have picked 1st. actually picked 4th. F***ing way she goes.
2021. should have picked 6th. actually picked 6th. HOORAY!
2022. should have picked 8th. actually picked 8th. Phew, dodged another F***ing way she goes.

New Jersey
2017. should have picked 5th. actually picked 1st. HOORAY!
2018. not in lottery
2019. should have picked 3rd. actually picked 1st. HOORAY AGAIN!
2020. should have picked 6th. actually picked 7th. Ugh Bettman screwed us!
2021. should have picked 4th. actually picked 4th. Didn't even move up? Boring!
2022. should have picked 5th. actually picked 2nd. Gotta say we deserved that!

stevey should be on the phone right now with Don Sweeney asking how much to acquire Taylor Hall. Just for the draft. Then we'll flip him back to the Bruins at half the cap hit.

But after the retention it would be a full season before Hall could go back to Boston.

Honestly there are players we could get in any location in this draft.
If we're 8-10, Cristall, Moore, or Reinbacher [maybe even Smith] would be beautiful.
17-19 (NYI), Barlow, Pellikka, or even Wood.
