    In effect you have made Hall a 8.365m player for the Wings in 23/24 season because of the retention.. Hall isn't playing to his 6m contract now. Nope M NTC Hall stays a Bruin

    I don't see how this helps the wings, they take on a longer term contract for a 3rd line player and the 2nd is what it would take for perron by itself. Just doesn't make sense

    Taylor Hall isn't living up to his current $6,000,000 salary, Detroit isn't taking on Hall for 2 x $6,000,000 plus retaining on Perron who's putting up better numbers and retaining 50% on him. Plus Hall has one more year of term. if Detroit is taking on Hall for an extra year. Then we're not retaining 50% on David Perron.

    He is still a great play-driver but has produced less because he isn't in the top6 and on the first PP unit. At 5v5, his points per 60 rank around players Necas, Kaprizov, Guentzel, Larkin, Scheifele. Will he regress and potentially not be a $6M player later? Possible but he is still worth $6M.

    Trade makes little sense for the Wings. I would imagine that Detroit would take Hall as a cap dump with a pick attached but they aren't moving Perron with retention for that package. Perron could fetch a 1st at the deadline next year if the Wings are out of the hunt.
