The question is this: How do you value these guys? Realistic trade values that is. Not exclusive to those fans but figured they'd have a better idea on it. Thanks.

A 5th sounds fine

Lorentz had a good year, started out hot but slowed as the year went on. Started on the 2nd line and looked legit for a bit but ended as a solid 4th liner who can play wing or center. I think he’s a guy Grier wants to keep around to solidify the bottom 6. I would imagine that he’s available though for the right price, I could see him moved for a 3rd.

I really like Lorentz, but objectively his value is probably only around a 4th.
He's a great bottom 6 center or winger that showed some offensive creativity toward the end of the season. Solid two-way player and seems like a high-character guy. I personally wouldn't trade him for more than maybe a 3rd + a prospect or a 2nd, but I know that's probably too high and realistically he'd be cheaper.

Not very high, he is a smooth skating RHD, but his offense dried up at the pro level, he's been transitioning to a shutdown role, but he isn't the biggest guy and tends to get dinged up a lot.

I'd use him as a sweetener in a trade, he's at best a call up option in my opinion.

I don't think Grier would want to trade Stevie. But a 3rd round pick and a decent prospect. Lorentz is a super high character player that works his ass off. He's already a fan favourite in SJ. He's worth more to SJ than his trade value.

And I mean a 3rd round pick from COL which is a late 3rd and a prospect like Kovalenko would be a reasonable ask.

Thanks to your generous contribution of Drew Helleson and the drafting of Tristan Luneau and Noah Warren, Andersson is certainly available. I'll go with my esteemed brethren @GeneralLandro and @GiggyWithGibby and agree on a late draft pick -- I'd say a fourth, but GL's fifth is probably right; Giggy's offer is a little low for my taste.

Just two guys I had my eye on as potentially cheap filler options for the Avs bottom 6 and bottom pairing/7thD/call up D.

I gotta go with @GiggywithGibby on this one. I think a 6th would be fine or a big young prospect. I’d prefer a 24 pick though.

Thanks for the answers all.

I actually wasn't far out on my estimates as I had Lorentz at a third, possibly a bit high, but it would be 2025 for the Avs (or maybe a 4th to be earlier plus a prospect) and as some have said he seems to have what a lot of coaches like in work rate and character. Liked what little I saw of him this year which I will admit was only a couple of games outside of the ones against the Avs.

Andersson was talked about when we were talking Rico trades and didn't have enough info on him to make a call on how he would be valued 'on his tod'. Had him down for a 4th plus a guy who maybe needed a change of scenery as RHD always seem to be valued higher so I was maybe a little high there.

Kovalenko has taken off in the motherland, so he won't be included. Lots of unknow with him still, obviously, but the upside is worth more to Colorado than a guy like Lorentz. Beaucage maybe?

Possibly even a 4th to bring it forward a year and Ranta? A bit higher quality and closer to NHL ready prospect (albeit would be RFA rights) and drop the pick one round. Or possibly stay at 3rd as it's only rights? I know a lot of Avs fans, and it seemed the organisation, were high on him and maybe in SJ he gets more chance to put it all together and prove it? Pure spitballing.

Yeah maybe Beaucage. Again though, don't see Grier wanting to move Lorentz. We're a team that has a lot of undersized speedy guys and Lorentz brings the size and tenacity that Grier wants to build the team around.

Sturm, Lorentz, Benning and Ferraro are kind of in that 3rd tier of guys that could be moved. Like they won't be shopped but could be had for the right price. Sturm and Ferraro particularly would require an overpay.

Ranta would probably be the better option. Reasonably quick. Closer to NHL ready and a big body.
