1.
CBJ
  1. Mittelstadt, Casey
Additional Details:
Mitts isn’t ideal center for Gaudreau and Laine but IMO he’s better than what they have.

I think this depends heavily on what Buffalos front office thinks of Mitts. Is he really as good as he was to end last season, or was that just a hot streak and he’s really just another middling middle 6 guy?
BUF
  1. Peeke, Andrew
  2. 2023 1st round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
BUF gets that young, defensive RHD they need. He’s been up and down but IMO he’s the type that NHL GMs would love to have. Since Mitts has shown more, Buffalo also gets a first which I’m projecting to be around 20-24. Buffalo only does this is they bring someone else in or expect both Kulich and Savoie to make the roster

This is a recipe for disaster…. And when it ultimately fails, Jarmo should be fired for making some of these moves.

Honestly have Columbus fans not learned anything from the last 4 seasons and the amount of injuries the team has had.

Mittelstadt showed that he’s gonna be a core piece, unlikely he is traded.

The Sabres are definitely not trading him for a worse player and a pick. The Sabres time for accumulating picks is over, they need elite players.

This is a interesting offer, think everyone would consider Mitts pulling in a RD and a 1st not bad. Was this just a bad year for Peeke, a -41 is bad. But Columbus wasn't exactly good. Mitts could become a core piece for the Sabres but at what price and that 1st could land a very good D prospect in this draft. Which the Sabres need. Sabres have a lot of good forward prospects coming. Intriguing I don't know if the Sabres would do it.

I like Mitts for Jiricek. Not above offer. Sabres might do that but huge Mitts fan now

He definitely turned the corner, but you can't sign everyone and sooner or later you have to to use good assets to help your team.

Ok we send Mitts for Jiricek and throw in Bryson for free?

lol, of course you would. That'll cost you at minimum Savoie, and probably more since 1RD > small center

Uh Jiricek is probably the best d-prospect now that Hughes is in the NHL. Mitts is a good 3rd line center.

Agreed. I wasn’t giving up Mitts so counter-offered. Was declined.

A late first and a good young d-man is a great return for Mitts

I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. Peeke is gonna be an upper-level, shut down defensive defenseman in the near future. Plus a first too?

      Absolutely

At the beginning of the year many Sabre fans were willing to trade Casey for a bucket of pucks.
      His game was aweful!
Now the return is the 23rd OA and an NHL defenseman who leads all jackets' D-men with 180 hits and 197 blocked shots.
Without him the Sabres LW would be Skinner, Peterka, Greenway and Girgensons, but Savoie, Kulich, Rosen and Ostlund are in the NHL within the next couple of years.
If the Sabres could land three more gems this year as they did last year with the 13th, 23rd and 39th OA it would be a great trade as Peeke could become Powers partiner.
