If I'm ANA, I do this all day long, even if I get the first pick. The CLB will still be 2nd or 3rd and either Fantilli or Carlsson, plus they get all that talent. I don't do it if I'm CLB

It's certainly a nice offer, but I think Anaheim fans would riot.

I certainly dont think they would, but I wonder what moving down from Fantilli to Carlsson would look like, Kent Johnson really interests me.

Not a chance would I do this from the Jackets side. Johnson, Jiricek, Mateychuk and Fantilli, Carlsson or Michkov is a damn big part of a team's potential core. Just not worth it at all to create 3 holes to upgrade one spot even if the upgrade is Bedard.

ANA would certainly be reluctant to trade their 1OA pick, but the value might just be too good for them. Essentially, the trade is as follows:
ANA gets:
Bedard
CBJ gets:
Fantilli/Carlsson/Michkov (if they want to gamble on him)
A potential future superstar center in Johnson
Two elite defensemen in Matechyuk and Jiricek
A Top 4/6 D man in Bean
A high 2nd round pick

Realistically the Ducks arent trading that pick as good as an offer as it may be we know it would never be offered

To avoid being a complete party pooper I will say its probably an overpay if we're being real.

I think the Ducks need a guy like Bedard to get Orange County excited about hockey again, this rebuild and the controversial end of the GMBM era and the slow poisoning of Dallas Eakins coaching tenure has sucked a lot of life out imo. Bedard would revitalize the fan base, obviously the package would make for a better team building foundation but imagine a core of Zegras, Terry, McTavish, Zellweger, Mintyukov, Drysdale and Bedard thats what dreams are made of tears of joy

Jackets say no, if not no way. Bean and the 2nd don’t matter much and swapping 1sts may be close enough to a wash, but KJ and Jiricek are hoped to be core guys for CBJ’s future. Silfverberg is old and they’ve already got too many wingers.
