I would take that all day... Petry is still a good player and would pair well with Power. The cap hit isn't an issue. Getting two 2nds and moving a guy we have no room for on F? Big W

If he wasn't 36 already... He could become dead weigth almost immediately, given lack of motivation after yet another trade, treated like cap dump this time.

And this would add 6,75 mil to 2024-25 season cap, for 38 yrs player.

Olofsson himself, with retention, can get this 2nd round pick easily. I am adding retention because cap is not an issue for 23/24, and could get better pick.

As for RHD, Sabres need partner for Power for years, not short term solution.

For that degree of delayed gratification, I'd keep Adam Henrique for his last season.

That's hilarious, I feel like trading Rico doesn't rly change the odds of him re-signing, in the offseason, so you'd rather get nothing for him. Plus it's not like having guys coming in on ELCs to an already competing team who might be struggling for cap space is a horrible issue for that team. Also that is assuming the already 75 yr old pens can stay competitive for another THREE seasons!! That would almost guaranteed to be a top 10 pick. I don't care if it's in 2035, I'm trading a rental Rico for a top 10 pick in a heartbeat

Yeah, that Rico trade is a pretty bold offer on my part, to be frank. Not taking it from ANA's perspective would be pretty silly. Pens should be able to fill that 3C spot without dropping a 1st.

Saros, I think, is probably worth the price, and I also think it'll take as much to get anywhere near convincing Nashville to bite. If we're being optimistic (which we are as long as we're not burning this team to the ground), the Pens should not give a sh*t about those picks.

That's a lot for Olofsson. Maybe if you view Petry as having a lot of negative value...

I'll take a short-term solution for the time being. It would be far better than Joki or Lyubushkin
