The only one crazy enough to take on an 11.5 mil contract is Dubas, and he'll be back working in the CCHL after this season ends next week

Hawks decline. They don't want or need a other injury prone goalie. Moving up 15 spots or less in the draft isn't worth it.

Rather have 2 years of Tavares, and Liljegren and the first rounder rather than 4 years of ErikKarlsson.

Sj absolutely does that. Offload the full EK contract, get a first rounder, get a young nhl ready RD, and Tavares who's on a contract two years less committed than EK and can retain 50% in one of his last two years and get a 1st plus as they come out of their rebuild in 3 years.
