WAS will never do that. I had something posted about this a while back, but didn't realize at the time just how bad WAS was this year. They have the #8 OA pick!

While I like Kurashev and think a change of scenery could help Mitchell blossom into something more, that first is a top 10 pick and not what you sort of expect with the Caps and it being one in the 20's. I don't think the orginal trade works even if you swap out the Tampa first for the Dallas 3rd and subtract out one of the players from the Hawks as a top 10 pick is simply to valueable to move away from.

The main piece for WAS is getting out from the Mantha contract so they can sign some players. A high pick is the most valuable thing to the Hawks, but for the Caps it may not give them anything for 2 - 3 years. How many more years will Ovi be at the top of his game? Mitchell and Kurashev are 2 solid players who won't put much of a dent in their cap. Maybe there would have to be a sweetener, but I think the concept is viable.

Hard no from the caps. That pick is gold for us. "Ovi" isn't an excuse for a flat out robbery.

You are free to think the concept is viable. You are incorrect. There is no chance the Capitals trade their 1st to move Mantha. That is just flat out stupid. The players you are offering from the Hawks do not come close to making this viable. Mantha is not a negative and if he is traded it will be in a change of scenery trade, not a trade where the Caps get absolutely destroyed.
