Petey is better than tage because the latter couldnt defend his way out of a paper bag but, this is a haul. Kulich, Quinn and 13th overall could be someone's first line. I dont think its at all a stretch to say in a year or two Quinn will be more valuable than tage. He's got almost as good a shot and is infinitely better defensively.

Edit: Obv wouldnt do this if I were Van, but if he wanted out for whatever reason, nobody is beating this offer lol

Especially if Vancouver's pick lands at 8th or 9th - they pick Dvorsky and you get Kulich, Dvorsky and Quinn, Buffalo at 13 could get Reinbacher, Leonard or Barlow.

UPL is good too, would be a good, young, backup to Demko. Bryson slots in as the 6th d and Vancouver opens up a pile of cap space.

Canucks decline. Pettersson is untouchable. He is our superstar so if he gets moved for whatever reason, the deal would involve a superstar player coming back (in this case, Tage Thompson).

If you Pettersson ended up getting moved, I'd imagine you'd get more of an Eichel return

Pettersson would return a lot more than Eichel. Eichel pretty much forced his way out of Buffalo by demanding a trade. He was also coming off of a major injury an no one knew if he would be the same player once returning. The season Pettersson just put up was better than the one Eichel put up the year before being traded. The Eichel trade is not a good comparison for any trade since the situation was so specific and will probably never be seen again.

Buffalo had a reason to trade Eichel, that being he refused to play for the team and publicly stated he wanted out. Vancouver has absolutely zero reason to trade their franchise centrepiece who they are building around in Pettersson. It would take an absurd overpay to pry Pettersson away from Vancouver, and that overpay would have to include either a superstar coming back (like Thompson) or a package involving multiple blue chip prospects and 1sts (example deal would be to Columbus for a base of Jiricek and Johnson).
