1.
CHI
  1. 2023 1st round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Been having a few discussions with MIN fans. They've got a deep farm system that can come up when called upon, but at the same time are looking for older cheaper capable guys. TRad at less than the league minimum while still RFA is a great option. The 2023 pick won't be NHL ready until after the MIN cap crunch (and potentially window).
2.
CHI
  1. Mantha, Anthony
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (BOS)
3.
CHI
  1. Bailey, Josh
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (NYI)
4.
CHI
  1. Faksa, Radek
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)

Stankoven will have a slot in the NHL next season regardless of whether or not Dallas moves Faksa. Also don't see it costing Dallas a 2nd Round Pick to move him either. After what Lars Eller got at the deadline, Faksa definitely has positive value in a trade. Not saying he'll net a large return, but it shouldn't cost Dallas to trade him

I'd be on board with all these moves. But I think Kyle probably goes for '24 or '25 2nd's in the Faksa and Bailey deals. Seems like too many '23 picks here based on his prior comments about not having too many players arriving at the same time.

It'll take a WHOLE lot more than 900. This SHOULD be the best offer WAS receives. BUT there are dumb teams out there.

TDL moves are night/day compared to offseason moves. Lars being a pending UFA, COL needed a C, and just Lars being better at hockey even if it's a little are all factors. You're certainly welcome to keep Faksa. Was assuming DAL would try to get better in the offseason. Not a ton of cap for quality acquisitions.

If that truly was the best offer Washington could receive, which I highly doubt, then I have little doubt Washington won't lose any sleep keeping the guy who's a prime candidate to bounce back to the good play he had before being scratched. Top 6 minutes and PP time will be a boon for Mantha, especially when he's no longer being passed up for Sheary and Aube-Kubel by a head coach who's lost.

BUT, just like the last 4 out of the last 5 years...he'll get hurt and bounced out of the position you're hoping he'll play. He's one of the single most injured players in the entire NHL. Combine that with He's NEVER earned that contract he has...go spend that cap hit on useful players. Why waste it on Mantha? Despite the #8OA...this is WAS time for a run. OR trade everyone? Which isn't the worst idea

It just depends I guess. If KD wants to move up it'll cost some picks. I'd be willing to bet a team like PIT and/or TOR would consider moving back. In the long run, I'm a bit concerned that we'll have a few Kevin Hayes if we accumulate TOO many prospects.

Was just gonna say this. Acquiring more 2023 2nds is good either way though. There is a ton of talent in that 2nd round and CHI could also package them to get more 1st round picks or earlier 2nd round picks. Some of those players will likely be doing at least 2 years in college, and some will be coming up sooner. So, yeah, you want to spread things out, but if you draft with that in mind, you could still be getting great players as well as spreading out the contractual obligations. Also, some of them could always become trade chips, at which point those contractual obligations are moot anyway.

Caps aren't paying to move Mantha. They'll see if the new coach actually uses him correctly before doing that.

He was one of Washington’s best players last year and was healthy for much of the regular season this year, up until they shut him down when nothing mattered. Under a coach that doesn’t throw him on the 3rd line and force him to be a defensive forward and then blaming him for playing more of a defensive game, he can be quite good. It’s not worth dumping him in the off-season when they have cap space to play with, when they can survive with him next year (especially if Kuznetsov is traded) and let go of him in FA if he struggles.

That is the sort of price I would move TRad for however I struggle to see us receiving that offer at the draft. The most likely outcome I think we both agree on is he plays well and is dealt for a good package at the TDL in a sort of Jeannot move (not the same price)
