Wings pass, not a player then want at all

I ask this passively and out of intrigue alone:

Wings fans seem to be fairly united in expressing that they need a better 2C. However any time anyone trades for a 2C, it isn't a player they want. How do they intend on filling a need if they aren't interested in any of the options?

Wings fans have had nothing but draft picks and prospects for so long as hope the thought of trading them scares the crap out of people. I just want players and if scheifele seemed likely to resign or atleast open to it I'm in.

My biggest issue is that he's 30 and will probably recess massively before we're able to make a decent run (3 years or so). Doesn't help that he is an expiring and aging UFA who hasn't won a Cup. Players in those situations typically want to go to a current contender before they fall off massively.

So each year the team gets closer and closer. The 2C and 2RD are holes. When healthy, the 2022-23 roster was a playoff team. Too many top 6 and top 9 games missed. This team wasn't as bad as the record suggested.

Thing is, for a 2C, Horvat was that guy. Yzerman missed here, maybe. Instead of having Horvat at 1b, it is hoping for Kasper or maybe Rasmussen.

Scheifele is fine, but over 30 makes no sense. Unless the term and price are below market value, there is no need for the guy.

There are other options out there or they can go with Kasper. This guy is a cancer, wrong age, wrong compete level, wrong contract, wrong size and wrong type of player. If they need a stopgap before Kasper is ready, they can get someone else, if they want a legit 2C, they can swing for the fences and hit big somewhere else

If Mark Scheifele would sign for 5 x $5,000,000 from his idol Steve Yzerman than sure. If not pass.

Zero chance of Connor Hellebuyck committing long term with Buffalo, He'd just come home to Detroit. He already said that he wants to play for a legit cup contender. And Buffalo isn't one with or without Helly.
