Is a career 50 point per 82 games winger worth 6m X 7 years starting at age 28? (Bertuzzi)

That's a very hard offer to reject. I think the Hawks accept unless they think they could get more value at the TDL. I think it comes down to how high they are on the prospects coming back.

I don't know that it does, Boston has to get rid of one or two of Forbort, Grzelcyk and Reilly and I'd think they keep Forbort based on who they played in the playoffs so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get traded for less than he's actually worth.

I was very impressed with him during the Florida - Boston series and if that is the kind of player Florida could get I think it would make them an even more of a nightmare to play against in the playoffs. I don't think Florida has a lot left to prove in the regular season after last year and this roster is definitely strong enough to get in the playoffs, so I'd be down to overpay a bit to get an outstanding playoff performer for many years to come. If Florida could get him for cheaper that would be optimal of course though.

Calgary doesn't have the cap space to take on Duclair unless they send salary back to FL. So your trade for Raddysh is now short a 2nd rounder. I also don't think the Hawks would have much interest in either Denisenko.

I think its probably more accurate to look at what h's done over the last 3yrs than his career to see the type of producer he is now. Over the last 3 years he's played at a 28G/64P pace, which is pretty damn good. The concerns are his injury history for me. I think in a bidding war $6 million gets it done, but ideally you'd like to get him for around $5 million.

This Hawk fan would do that. Two 2nds with one #49OA would be nice for building depth or as trade chips to flip picks up for better picks. Denisenko is probably more likely a failed former 1st rounder than someone that amounts to anything, but why not roll the dice on a high draft pedigree guy as a third piece and feed him tons of NHL time and figure out if he is a bust.
