+ Edvinsson or Kasper would have to be part of this trade.

Every single signing is a pass

Gonna be honest, this does not get 2OA. Unless Anaheim thinks that Boston will drop off a cliff and their '25 first is 1OA (which is a big bet to take), we still need to add a bit.

100%, but he was light on the offer for fantilli and I was just stating it would have to be a gross overpayment to get him

Why do people think the ducks need anymore LHD prospects?

Mintyukov, LHD, OHL defenseman of the season.
Hinds, LHD, QMJHL defensive defenseman of the season.
Zellweger, LHD, WHL nomination for defenseman of the season (probably gonna win).
LaCombe is also a LHD.

I don't see the Ducks moving 2OA to the Wings unless 9OA and Seider are involved.

9OA++.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would trade Seider for Fantilli 1 to 1, let alone adding 9OA.

Y'all said it would take an overpay, there it is. Not speaking on the wisdom of doing it from the Wings end, but if I'm Verbeek and I'm asked what it costs to drop from 2 to 9, that's it.

Probably willing to send Helleson back the other way though.

Yeah that would be buying the 2OA, not trading up for it lol.

Well, the Bruins would have to suck to get in the top 10 next year too.

I love Kasper, but I'd add Kasper to the trade to get Fantilli. Kasper has a huge upside and very unique style; he could be a 1C, but it will take time. Fantilli will be a 1C easily in 3 years time, if not sooner.

Detroit can find their future long term 3C at 17 in the draft, or sign let Copp do it. Trade up a few more picks/assets to get Pelikka and the team is set to ascend for a few years.

Lest you forget the lottery. I don't think they'll be a bottom 10 team, but it's not impossible. I think it lands between 12-18.

I would be hesitant. Even if Kasper doesn't hit his skill ceiling, his tenacity and grit is something our team desperately needs. Being able to outskill the opponent means jack if we're getting beat up every shift.

I get that. But you do have Mazur on his way, and can always trade for more quality tough guys. At some point, you are going to have a nasty D with Seider, Edvinsson, Wallinder. Throw in Mazur, Soderblom (who will learn to be tougher) and Rasmussen.

Thing is, we all love gritty good forwards, and every team needs a few. Detroit can cover that easier than a 1C for the next decade. If you have a back with terrifying giants, teams will be a little less likely to take liberties with your own guys.

Keep in mind too that Fantilli is big and no slouch in toughness.

Meh. They're gritty, but Kasper is next level. I'm in love with this kid.

I had Kasper picked as a future Red Wing around November before he was drafted. I'd been kinda watching him for a bit (I was in Europe for work and had nothing to do). Trust me when I say I straight up knew he was coming to Detroit. If Larkin were a couple years younger and a little better offensively, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Larkin is a top 20 center in the league, but for him to be fully effective, he would be better as the defensively deployed elite 1b. I see Kasper as like the 35th best center...of course he has the potential for top 10. Fantilli's floor is top 10, and he has a bit of toughness to go with it.

Meh. I think Kasper's point ceiling is lower; obviously he's exceeded all my point expectations so idk though.
As for his grit; I expect opponents to be a lot more reserved/fearful when he's on the ice. Fantilli is no slouch, but Kasper is grit 101.
