I'm not even an NYR fan, I don't understand why people think Panarin is bad now? He's literally coming off his fourth consecutive 90-point pace season, he's still one of the best wingers and playmakers in the league.

I am a rangers fan and I think he gets too much hate. As you said his reg season points are great, he creates chances it’s just his playoff performance, however half the team was invisible which is why I’m giving him the pass. His contract is also part of the reason. But I agree with you.

CHI is a logical destination to eat Peterson's contract but a 3rd and a "meh" prospect is not enough to eat 2 x $5m

Before you explain how Grundstrom is actually worth a lot, the fact that he's in every single LAK trade on this site suggests that LAK fans know better.

In case nobody's noticed, that's the same defense (minus Matt Roy) that underperformed this year and even when we added Vladi Gavrikov, didn't get us past the first round of the playoffs. And the cap math has forced us into unprovoked trades of our #2 RhD and #4 C which only 50% retention on Panarin would prevent.

This ACGM is the perfect proof why Panarin to Los Angeles is such an unproductive idea. That's not a criticism, it's a compliment. smile I hope that this post helps put the idea to rest.

It's not that he's bad it's that if he doesn't have the puck he just doesn't look interested. He's top 5 in turnovers, he's a one trick pony and that's passing the puck

If they are bashing him because of his playoff performance I dont understand that either, this season sure but not including this season he has 50 GP and 44 pts. he looks like a playoff performer.

As a Rangers fan, he was magical first year in NYR but he been regressing every year since. I think he is overpaid, now if covid and flat cap didn't happen we probably won't even have this conversation, but nonetheless here we are. I think a disciplinarian can get him to commit more and make that contract work (if he is with the right linemates). And paying someone that money you sort of have to make it work. It is a very generous offer for NYR and if Panarin would wave his NMC I don't see Drury saying no to this.

We'd be lucky to get one of those for Artemi Perimeter...
