Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Luukkonen, Ukko-Pekka
  2. Östlund, Noah
  3. 2023 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Jets get pick 13 in this years draft
Upl is 24 year old goalie who could use a change and maybe fines a way to be a 1a/1b goalie
Ostlund gives the jets a prospect overseas to build the team with
BUF
  1. Hellebuyck, Connor
  2. Stanley, Logan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Buffalo gets Hellebuyck who is a venza winner, 3 times nominated in 6 years and would give Buffalo the best shot at ending the drought they have as throwing Levi to be a 1a with thr experience he has and hope to make playoffs is optimistic. Get stanley for bottom pair lhd and with his age and size could be a nice addition
2.
WPG
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. Kidney, Riley
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (COL)
  4. 2025 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Jets get Calgary's 2025 first (can choose 2024 first if in 20-32 range). Colorado's 2024 second, Kidney who has great offensive numbers in the q with b2b 100 point seasons and a cap player coming back in Dvorak or hoffman
MTL
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Mtl gets their guy and keeps the 2023 picks and their own future 1sts in the process. Sign him to the 7 year 8m deal and start to turn the corner on being a competitive team. Jets also throw in vesalainen as a flyer type pick up where in 3 years if he's wanting to return to NA then they can sign him as a depth piece after some strong seasons over seas. If not it doesn't take up a roster spot until he's signed and has no risk besides if he stays over seas.
3.
WPG
  1. Lapierre, Hendrix
  2. 2024 1st round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Jets get a 2024 first go help get more young assets on the team. Lapierre is a good prospect where he is good at a lot of things but master of none.
WSH
  1. Harkins, Jansen
  2. Scheifele, Mark ($3,062,500 retained)
Additional Details:
Caps get scheifele 50% retained around the deadline where he can be a good top 6 piece to compete again next year. Harkins provides young bottom 6/depth support for the team.
4.
WPG
  1. Zadina, Filip
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Jets get a 2023 2nd to bring in a rhd prospect and zadina who could use a change of scenery.
DET
  1. Johannesson, Anton [Reserve List]
  2. Pionk, Neal
Additional Details:
Detroit gets a perfect 2nd pair rhd that can do it all (pp, pk, hit, block, provide offense support. Get johannesson as a toss in prospect that's currently in the 3rd tier Swedish league but could be in a different higher league next year. Had injury issues and might be able to sign him to play in ahl at some point.
5.
WPG
  1. Garland, Conor
  2. Myers, Tyler
  3. 2024 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Definitely the most questionable deal so I'll accept the push back on the deal.

Jets get Garland who is a solid middle six player just isn't worth almost 5m. Could be a nice addition to have a player give it all season. Myers replaces demelo on the right side and basically plays the same role that demelo does. Get a top 10 protected 1st in 2024. This could also be a lower pick with a b prospect.
VAN
  1. DeMelo, Dylan
  2. Heinola, Ville
Additional Details:
Vancouver gets the exactly the player they need in demelo who is a solid defensive dman that is rhd and a lower cap hit. Can be a great pair with hughes and how Morrissey was able to boom with the solid partner demelo is maybe hughes takes another step and becomes a norris finalist. Heinola is here as Vancouver seems to want to bring in younger nhl ready or on the crusp to help build a core. He has been shut out of the jets lineup and really could use a change where a team values what he can bring.
6.
WPG
  1. Blackwood, Mackenzie [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Jets sign Blackwood he probably doesn't get qualified but since his qo is so high nj can't expect anything for a return as he ain't worth 3.3m and not a lot of teams would be paying late picks for a injury prone goalie like him
NJD
  1. Blaisdell, Harrison [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Nj can take Blaisdell and hope he turns into something but honestly just gives them something for him even if it will likely never have an impact on the franchise

You could probably keep Johannesson. The value is fine without him for us.

I'd do it without stanley. Dont want any chance that coaching may play him.

Have seen some Detroit fans say it's a bit too much so I added him just to sweeten it slightly

got like 3 7th d-men masquerading as 3rd pair players so we're pretty much capped out there

Honestly if I had my choice I would just say an equivalent value draft pick. That would likely be better for us since we can use it down the line for something. Honestly I would do this trade as is without him though.

I still have a problem with including both the 23 first and one of the firsts from last draft. In less there's a reasonable extension in place, there needs to be either a fetch to next year's first or a lesser prospect.

Yeah could just include a 4th and trade stanley elsewhere for a similar return to what we include

Honestly this is really good. Good detail in the trades, reasoning is sound. I think there will be some push back from Vancouver but that trade would help them try and turn it around. Demelo is really underrated. Not going to move Nino or try and find a home for Wheeler?

Ah, come on. It’s worth keeping him in there just to confuse everyone with all the variations of A. Johannsen’s we’ll have in the system.

Canucks are not trading a good middle 6 forward and a first round pick for a 30 year old bottom 4 defenseman....

Lol I did think about that honestly. Would be hilarious. I'm hoping we get Willander.

Fair enough just need a rhd like him and clear cap in the same move seems like something positive but like I said in the trade it probably isn't for everyone

I would probably attempt to get the value out of Connor/Dillon and niedereiter also, everybody else probably needs to get shined up a bit to move. Possibly ehlers also. I would be more choked if the jets go on a mediocre run than a bottom out, still believe they need to tear it right down and build back stronger than attempt a retool on the fly. But feel free to call i told you so if they manage to pull it off.

Capitals say **** no and then puke on the phone. That 1st alone is worth more than Scheifele.

How many points did Kuznetsov have this year? 55? Also has a 15 no trade list which is half the league and with how cap strapped the majority of the league he isn't worth more. Scheifele on the other hand had 42 goals this year (Kuznetsov career high is 27) and only has 10 teams he can't be traded to with a cap hit 1.6m cheaper. The fact is Kuznetsov had a down year and simply wouldn't get value based on him being able to eliminate teams that would want him and the rest wouldn't trade for him. Scheifele on the other hand can be retained at 3m and how many guys can be acquired that scored 40 goals and has 3m cap hit that a team would actually move. So no Scheifele > Kuznetsov and it makes sense why.

A 20th something first that's probably protected and is no guarantee to become scheifele for a guy that scored 40 goals and can be had at a 3m cap hit. It's a fair deal and others agree

I just can't imagine Vancouver is interested in that. They'd definitely rather just get Garland out on his own and wait out Myers contract than do a 1st.

Others are idiots. The Capitals are picking 8th Overall THIS year. They’re absolutely not trading any first in the foreseeable future for a guy in his 30s who is declining, no matter how much you retain, that’s stupid no matter what “others” say.

It's fair value wise maybe not the right team but if scheifele was to be traded this type of return on another team would be the base. Don't get butt hurt I picked the wrong team sorry I couldn't be perfect for you

Scheifele will not return any Top 10 Pick from any team.
