Not close enough to get 9OA. Give them Cole Perfetti at least, but even then I don’t know if Detroit does it. This draft is insanely deep… there are so many very good players, so I think it would have to be more than Pionk, and 18OA for 9OA.

Moving up from 18 to 9 would probably take the equivalent of a 1st & 2nd round pick.

So if the draft is very deep then the difference in quality of prospect from 9 to 18 wouldn’t be too crazy then? I figure Pionk has the value of a 2nd round pick so I thought it might be slow to move up 9 spots.

Makes sense. I figure the value of Pionk is a 2nd and the value to trade from 18 to 9 would be a 2nd round pick. So in theory the value is there but detroit is probably not trading down?

The value isn't terrible but wings need that top 10 pick more than they need to fill the rd void. Only way I would move back is if it was only back 2 or 3 picks and someone made it worth our while.

The drop back 9 picks, out of the top 10 is worth an additional 1st and probably more on top of that, that's a major drop back. Detroit will be using 9OA for a significant piece.

If it were Connor it would depend on who's still on the board but thats just me.

I'd like to see who is on the board still as well. But I'd be willing to part with pick 9 and more for a proven commodity. But if a player or two Yzerman loves are still available keep the picks.

I agree. Detroit needs a high end goal scorer and unless you're really lucky you don't usually find those outside the 3.

Detroit's not trading the 9 oa for the 18 oa and Pionk. No way is Yzerman trading down 9 spots. We're linked to Tyson Barrie no need to trade for Pionk.
