No goalie has ever been traded for that type of return. Why do you think Hellebuyck is different?

Rosen or Peterka and a 2nd, or a 2024 1st and Rosen. The Sabres believe they have their long term goalie and don't need to pay a premium for a 30 year old great goalie, especially if a rental. If that's not enough, there's plenty of lower end options to split seasons with Levi.

Would be an interesting spot to ditch some cap to Winnipeg, straight up that 23 1st should be enough, not a bad gamble and possibly have a similar tandem to Florida going forward. Obviously you wouldn’t want that 10 million per, but lesser term and cement a tandem not a bad idea either.

Definitely none of the above. If the Sabres offer this year‘s first round pick, that would be more than enough or should be. If Winnipeg insists on more they can kick rocks. Buffalo can find a competent goaltender in free agency to split games with Levi if they want to go that route. Otherwise they keep Luukkonen and they look to improve the team defense, which was the real problem this past season.

Schneider for horvat? Is that the biggest or luongo deals? Isles to Florida or Florida to Vancouver, just looking for references on biggest goalie returns

          Kuemper went for a 1st and 3rd
Bishop went for an A prospect, a backup goalie, and a 7th (with a 5th going the other way)

Those two were top ten goalies on an expiring contract. I think something in there is about right for Hellebuyck.

Would love that Buffalo 23 first, possibly shine it up a little more if there’s a contract to be dumped or a dman to go with helly. Would be interesting trade partners. Would be interesting to see what helly extension ask in Buffalo would be and well it would fit with Levi. Not sure how jets get their hands on savoie, krebs might be interesting also.

The Hockey Writers are royal jokes.

And i give the odds of Hellebuyck in Buffalo as very slim.
