  1. Garland, Conor
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Garland is neutral value right now so the question is, what value does Rasmussen have? a mid 3rd seems to be fair value for a fairly replaceable guy. Garland goes to a team that can use some mid 6 reinforcements and gets to be part of the growth of a team that will be very good very soon

Yeah Rasmussen is worth way more to the red wings than a third.

Rasmussen isn't available, And Garland at 3 x $4,950,000 is going to take far more than a 3rd round pick to take him on.

Ras is developing into a non-replaceable guy. Wings don't need another middle 6 forward. Hard pass.

Detroit declines. Ras is not available for that return.

It's easy to say Rasmussen is just a "fairly replaceable guy" if you're not a Red Wings fan. But he's much more than that to us. 24y old with a very team friendly contract, 6'6" and super versatile: PP/PK, C/W, brings physicality.

Red Wings is just getting older and more expensive with this moveshakes head

He put up 50 points once, Sure gives us your 11th overall and Garland for the islander 17th and your 43rd oa pick back. And we might consider it.

Insanely hard pass from Detroit and it's not even close. Ras isn't available.

Remove Ras from this deal and we'll consider it, but probably not because man Garland makes a lot of money and you guys are in cap trouble rn

Andrew Copp makes more money and has only put up 50 points once while also being a worse player yet you said he would easily return a late 1st round pick minimum

I thought there were three zones played in hockey? Or is the offensive zone the one that only matters to you?

Well Copp was also had a negative defensive impact last season according to advanced stats while Garland was positive. Garland was better in 2021/22 as well

Interesting. Certainly doesn't match the eye test, but I guess the recovery from his core surgery had a much bigger affect on overall numbers than once thought

Your eyes are just fine. He's being deceitful. Not one word of what he said is true

Dom’s player cards also have him as a negative defensively, and a significant negative offensively for this past season

Wings fans vs Canucks fans delusion. What. A. Show. Rasmussen somehow a worthwhile piece and Garland somehow not a cap dump.

The trades are more than fair. ACGM is fine and dandy.

You people would fight over trading away FC.

I mean... a 24 year old who just put up a 0.5ppg as one of the teams better defensive forwards with a less than 1.5mil cap hit seems like someone with positive value imo. Certainly far more than Garland who is similar but smaller, older, and costs more money
