Detroit currently have the following LD under contract:

Ben Chiarot
Jake Walman
Olli Määttä
Albert Johansson
William Wallinder
Eemil Viro
Donovan Sebrango
Jared McIsaac
Simon Edvinsson

We also have Shai Buium, Tnias Mathurin, and Cooper Moore on our reserve list.

What on earth makes you think we would be interested in trading for yet another LD?

Wow another trade where Wings trade for a LHD. Amazing. Just what the Wings need another LHD.

Please understand that the Wu gs do not need LHD defenseman, but RHD defenseman.

As in the other comment Wings are mostly a placeholder. Ive seen a ACGM where Wings trade for him thats only reason. Wanted another team as almost everyone have grzelcyk going to Columbus.

Detroit has zero interest in, or use for, Grzelcyk. Look elsewhere.

I know it may feel silly, but most people take these trades at face value. You gotta add on like "anywhere" or something.

I try to ignore trades like this (pick for player) since it's usually just an "any team" situation.

Reasoning? Feel like halls current value is around 2 second rounders maybe one 2 one 3.
Iorios a second rounder and the pick is likely a late one.

The caps are trying to get younger, there are comparable, better, and younger players available in UFA that you can sign for the same AAV or less, and we're not moving Iorio for a rental. Hall might be worth two seconds to a contending team at 50% at the deadline.

Its a pretty cheap price to pay for such a player. I dont want to trade him but he needs to go if bertuzzi is coming back. And ofcourse hes got the hart ceiling

Agreed - Caps decline easily.

In addition to what brady_t12 stated, Iorio is also trending to be an NHL ready RHD in 2 seasons (this season the Caps defense is already set). Although he was a 2nd round pick, I can see him being a 2nd pair guy. He has great skill at moving the puck and skating. I was very impressed this year with his play in the AHL.

Caps need to keep those young, cheap players.

It would be cheaper for us to sign Bertuzzi for free in UFA. Bertuzzi > Hall. The same reason you want to move Hall is the same reason we don't want to take him on.

Shouldnt Caps be going fully for the cup? I mean their core is getting old and will all probably retire soon. Understand that want to keep him but if they want to go for the cup they need to trade someone

I agree he makes no sense as a target but as a player gryz is probably as good or better right now than any of those guys you listed.

He’s not going to handcuff himself like that. He’s 28. He’s set up for his biggest payday of his career. He’s going where the money is.

Hall isn't the guy though...

The Caps will target someone better
