First, on general principles, you shouldn't be trading #11 overall. Second, you don't need to package it with Myers to dump his $6 million cap hit. Just pay his bonus in the summer and then someone will take him off your hands for a fourth and FC or a third and a sixth.

Dumping Myers was actually a last minute decision to shuffle value. Lundestrom was the original target of the trade. I doubt the Canucks have a similar value player ANA would covet in a 1 for 1, so the 11OA was the asset going back. The 33rd OA and Myers were essentially value shuffling

Buffalo pass, Samuelsson not available

Canucks easily pass on the Buffalo and Anaheim deals. I wouldn’t do the Ottawa deal either, even though I do like JBD. Boston (and Coyle) decline

Its not a one sided offer to Boston, but the term on Miller would scare me away and who knows where Coyle's head would be at.
