Not sure I understand this logic. TImmons is built in the Yzerman dman mold (6'2 RHD). For a 4th round pick (which has less than a 5% chance to play 100 games in the NHL) he's worth the swing. His underlying numbers in TOR were pretty good actually, in a sheltered role playing 3rd pairing minutes, with some 2nd unit PP time. Even if they traded for a guy like Durzi, you could take a swing for Timmons too.

I guess that's fair and it's a pretty cheap deal, I just find nothing intriguing about his game at all, but as a 3rd pairing/7th dman, could be worse all things considered...
