dumping myers + acquiring murphy... probably still not enough but I think if VAN added a 2nd or B prospect it'd be fair

It won't take a 1st to dump Myers, after his bonus is paid he is only owed 1mil perfect type of contract that Arizona would want, shouldn't take more then a 4th to dump him

I'm not saying it takes a 1st to dump Myers, just that the value of dumping Myers (I see it as a 3rd + 4th) and adding Murphy (late 1st?) creates a total cost that adds up to a bit less than 11OA now that I think about it

Let’s break this down. Say Murphy is worth the 25th overall pick. Recent trades suggests that the 11th overall pick is equal to approximately the 25OA, 35OA, 45OA. That’s what the Canucks are giving up. Well then Murphy and the 25OA cancel out. So that leaves the Canucks trading the 35OA and 45OA to dump Myers? A very early 2nd and mid 2nd is way too much to dump Myers. Canucks don’t need a 30 year old Murphy anyway. 26 and under are the players the Canucks are targeting, hence the Hronek trade

Where to start? Neither Domi nor Bertuzzi are signing for one year unless it's at least $9m or $10m for each. And Hawks don't need Motte.

Vancouver isn't giving up #11 to dump Myers and acquire Murphy. That trade way favors the Hawks. Hawks aren't taking Murray for a 3rd. Their only interest in Murray would be to acquire the Boston '23 1st in a pick swap. Since Murphy is still a Hawk, Addison isn't necessary. Not that the Hawks would trade Vlasic and a 2nd for him anyway. Vlasic is a top 4 LD for Hawks next season. And that last trade with the Pens isn't a deal the Hawks probably make either. Hawks are burning one of their two retention slots to take Petry for 2 years? Nope. Don't see it.

Edit: seems Pens fans don't like the Petry/Myers trade either!
