Phi can get a lot more for Hayes with 3 years retention.

Detroit isn't trading 9OA unless it's part of a bigger trade that moves us into the top 5

That's pick 9; not 17. Islander's pick is #17.

Take out a 3rd or Kubalik and sure.

I am not as high on Hart as some others. I would say that pick 43 should also be going to Ottawa in this situation. If that's the case, I think the deal makes sense for all teams.

But my proposal in this 3 way would be:

To PHI: Pick 17 (islanders), 2023 2nd (DET) (maybe even Detroit 3rd instead)
Out: Carter Hart

To OTT: Berggren, Carter Hart,
Out: ADB

To DET: ADB
Out: Pick 17 (Islanders), 2023 2nd (DET) (maybe even Detroit 3rd instead), Berggren

So Philly acts as a middle man and somehow get more than Chicago did actually trading the guy

2 things:

1. Cat will return less value than he did last year as he's more expensive and had a down year

2. Most of that value has to go to Ottawa since they already have him.

Yzerman didn't trade Hronek and add a 1st so he good trade it away for pending UFA midget winger. Detroit isn't in compete now mode, they're not trading futures
