That is an atrociously bad deal for the flyers. They lose Hart, Laughton and Konecny and only get a decent college prospect, a cap dump and a 4th to go along with a 30 year old goalie that a rebuilding team doesn’t need??? You must’ve been high when you came up with that

WPG gets Dvorak, Kidney, FLA 1st for PLD & Hart/TK for Helly. PHI definitely declines which makes the trade impossible but WPG would be be winning that trade.

No, you just haven’t thought it through. Putting Hellebuyuk on the rebuilding flyers will actually cause them to steal more wins than they will want. They will want higher picks next year too. Not another in the 7-10 range.

And you want the flyers to take on a player that doesn’t fit just to do even more work to flip him? Why would they do that? They could get way more by trading Hart, TK and Laughton individually and get picks and prospects they want, up front.

Not to mention, on a bad team CH’s numbers will probably be bad which lessens his value. Absolutely NOTHING about your trade makes any sense whatsoever for the Flyers. You do know Chuck Fletcher is not the GM anymore right?

Yeah, expectations for Hart are much higher. Hoffman has no value, a 4th doesn't move the needle here. Laughton has more value than both those pieces. Hart for Farrell? Yeah, no.

Dvorak has very low value in the current cap crunch (Bjorkstand got dealt for a 3rd + 4th last off-season)

You're saying that PLD + Hellebuyck only returns Hart + Kidney + 31st OA

Hellebuyck > Hart
PLD >> Kidney + 31st OA

Edit : wait, they get Konecny too? That certainly changes everything

Wish the interface would show 3-way trades differently

Dvorak, Kidney, FLA 1st and maybe Norlinder is all they'll get from MTL. As I've stated from the beginning of the debacle, it was a fair deal to begin with and it's a fair deal now. I've had Jets fans agree with the offer as recently as yesterday.

Then to Have Hart & TK head to WPG for Helly, WPG wins on all accounts. (I see your edit, I also agree with the 3-team trade issue in ACGM)

I'm pretty high on Chesley, but I'd probably make that Caps trade if you took out the retention on Mantha. I dunno why the Habs would care about retention anyway when they're 10M below the cap and it's a one year deal.

Carey price contract is a mess so I try to stay close to the 10.5 value to keep our money tight.

@Just_A_Guess have you seen what Winnipeg are trying to do with PLD : Sign him and trade him to one of Rangers, Wilds, Red Wings or HABS and the asking price for salary cap would be 9 millions ...... LOLOL. What are they trying is a pure mess. Who's gonna pay a 9millions/year contract to PLD ?

2023 1st round pick (FLA) - 31st overall

Montreal Canadiens
Pierre-Luc Dubois
Scott Laughton

Philadelphia Flyers
Connor Hellebuyck
Mike Hoffman
Sean Farrell
2023 4th round pick (VGK) - 128th overall

I highly doubt Philadelphia will be able to recoup (4) 1st round picks for Hellebuyck, which is the minimum they'd need to get fair value for TK, Hart, and Laughton. TK can probably fetch a mid 1st + early 2nd, Laughton a late 1st / early 2nd himself. The rumor on the street is that Philly wants 2 firsts for Hart and was only listening on trades, not actively shopping him. They'd be better off selling individually and not together to maximize its return.

The team that will be acquiring him will have to agree to the contract with him, I can't see him and his agent being that numb to sign with WPG prior to the sign and trade being agreed upon. There is a lot of leverage for the acquiring team on a few different fronts; contract length & value, trade value, etc. While I wouldn't want to pay him 9 mil/yr, I could see a team going that high as a maximum if they reaaaally wanted him. Honestly the more he signs for, the less WPG will get in a trade. If he signs 7 - 8/8.5 per year contract they'll get a better return.

I don't understand why one day we have a rumor stating : he won't sign with Jets no matter what then a day later the Athletic say Jets are trying a sign and trade ...lol.

ahhh chut I did a mess so people can try to see who get who !! :P

I really think that Hellebuyck at TDL could be a big buzz.

I think it's been a sign and trade all along, he just won't sign unless there is a trade already in place. Likely teams are going to be allowed to speak with him about a contract prior to the trade being made. I mean it's all up for interpretation anyway.

And you didn’t listen to a word I said. It’s an idiotic trade. Flyers lose 3 very valuable assets that could collectively get way more individually than what you could possibly get back for hellebyuck alone. Why not just trade them to different teams directly and get more right away? Why take the chance on what you might get for him. A team acquiring him will want to negotiate an extension to get the most back for him. And even then it won’t be the same as the return for the other guys directly. TDL is mostly for rentals. Sometimes those rentals resign, but not always. The risk is too high. You are hoping for the “kings ransom” . But I’d say it’s not even likely. Deals for a player like this are done in the offseason, not the trade deadline.
