However do not think Leafs do it. Marner is a better player than Bratt, and Brat doesn't bring anything else to table (2-way play or physicality). Also is not going to cost way less that you can fill out your roster in other places.

Not a big believer in old school hockey idioms but “you never win a trade when you trade the best player” sticks with me…Marner is elite at both ends of ice, in his prime & a hometown boy who wants to stay here his whole career. We can argue if his salary should be lower (I blame Covid for breaking the salary cap more than anything else) and if he has played well enough in playoffs (same can said for Matty & JT btw) but but no doubting his talent - we should keep him & extend.

Bratt and Marner are very similar players, Marner being a tier better both offensively and defensively
