PLD Doesn't make sense for the rangers. He wants 9 million, and even at 8x8 its not worth weakening our team to acquire him.
He wouldn't even be our second best center. Chytil actually is our 2C. And you're proposing to move laf + trocheck, the production is a net negative, and you're overpaying for UFA years when trocheck at under 6 million is a very strong 3c.

Take Trochek out and trade him to another team...ie CBJ for some picks. His NTC sucks but...

Two players that don't seem to fit the Hawks time-line and a 2nd for 20 goal scorer on an ELC. No thanks. On top of that, Goodrow's contract sucks.

Take TRad out of the Hawks deal and at least it's a fair offer to move Goodrow. Still don't think Hawks make the deal though. And Goodrow isn't waiving for Chicago anyway.

The difference between trocheck and pld is not a 1st and laf... also I'd rather have trocheck at his cap vs pld at 8-9m

I completely agree with you about those trade value standpoints, but how would you know Goodrow has Chicago on his NTC?

Obviously I don't but he gets to choose 15 teams each season. Pretty easy to assume he would pick the teams that are at the bottom of the standings with the worst shot at making the playoffs. But you're correct, no way to know for sure

I mean, Nemeth didn’t have Arizona out of all teams on his 8 team NTC. Chicago is also a much bigger hotspot of hockey and miscellaneous culture. The only reason I wouldn’t want to play there is out of spite against the ownership

You are correct. I didn't write the trade description for my own amusement. I was just looking for a way to make the dollars and roster make sense. After a bit of a let down performance in the playoffs and kind of in the regular season, I'm just not so sure what his value would be in the market with his cap hit and term. Trocheck can go elsewhere but it'd have to be for picks/prospects.

Either way, I don't see any of this happening, was just trying to make it work somehow

Minor details but he isn't on an ELC, and it's easy to have inflated numbers when you're one of the only offensive players on the team. He wasn't anywhere close to those numbers the last two years in the NHL, and provided he's a bottom 6 player on normal teams, it's unlikely he'll do it again. Trivigno on the other hand, is a highly touted prospect and could probably routinely hit 20 goals if he gets a chance. I was kind of viewing it as a prospect swap, and then Goodrow + the 2nd is a cap dump

Nevertheless, it can be subbed out for some other sub 1mil bottom 6er on CHI. Again, I wrote the description for a reason
