Kings don't need a rental and have adequate forwards. Kings also do not have the cap space.

The Kings decline on both roster and cap grounds. Los Angeles is about the LAST team that needs an expensive center for one season, and we can't afford an exchange that adds over $2 million to our cap total which, right now, looks like it may force us to move an Iafallo-sized cap hit in order to acquire a starting goalie.

Kings have plenty of centers, can't take on the extra cap difference between Iafallo and Scheifele, and have no interest in paying him even more next year. That doesn't even go into the possibilities of his involvement in the culture up in Winnipeg that you guys are trying so hard to get away from.

I just don't love the idea of paying a 3rd for a slightly overpaid 3rd pair guy on an expiring deal. I don't HATE DeMelo, but anything more than a 4th and I'd rather look elsewhere.

Yeah I feel that. We are kind of in a tough situation if we don't fill that hole though.

The FA market isn't great, but I think there are enough viable options there, that we shouldn't have to reach for a trade. If a logical trade or two come along, sure, otherwise, all we need to do is fill 1 RHD slot and hopefully a 7th D, who happens to be a RHD, like Psysk was meant to be last year.
