There’s no world in which the Blackhawks make this trade. But, if there was, the Hawks would be demanding Jiricek and Johnson as part of the trade. Which I imagine would nix the deal from Columbus’ POV

Actually based on this proposal, I laugh at your comment.

The only asset of really high value the Hawks are getting in return for Bedard is the Columbus 2023 1st round pick. The six “guys” you are sending to Chicago may seem like a lot but they are just that “guys”. All of them are bottom of the roster players that can be acquired without having to give up anything of significant value, hell the Hawks have a boatload of those kind of players already.

Now I know you are going to say “but what about the 2024 & 2025 unprotected 1sts Columbus is including”? Well with the additions of Provorov and Severson and the expected development of Jiricek on top of the addition of Bedard and the return to health of Werenski… it is not difficult to project Columbus as a playoff team next season. If that is the case, those future 1sts could fall in the 17 - 25 range which is nice but not even close to enough to make the Hawks want to trade a potential generational talent.

Funny thing is people like you know deep down your offers miss the mark and yet you still think you can sell people on quantity over quality. Any offer from Columbus for Bedard starts with Jiricek, Johnson, 2023 1st and then add from there… and add a lot.

Lol....the GM Jarmo pants several times is now gone. Only way the Hawks would consider moving Bedard would be getting two elite (like top line potential) assets and then several high end assets on top of that base. The #3 pick this draft is (probably) one, and I don't see another with any certainty in all of these other parts. The future "unprotected" picks, for a team that was devasted by injury and adds a top D pairing (Werenski back with Provorov) and top line C (Bedard) make it as likely the pick is out of the top 10 as any "protection" being an issue on the picks. You rebuild with top 5 (and maybe top 10 with some luck), not future draft picks that have as good a chance of being outside the top 10 as they do being within.

Edit...Or what snowhawk said faster than me.

Looks like we have a troll, ladies and gentlemen!

CHI... The team that cleaned house, is doing big social and community efforts, and trying to change hockey culture, is the scandalous team. While CBJ, the team with Jarmo the snake at the helm, who is hiring Babcock and just traded for the bigoted Provorov, is just squeaky clean and a perfect little angel of a team. LMAO!

These are all very astute observations but people do realize more than half of chicagos roster and prospects are still unsigned? With everything going on I wonder how many of those players are staying and how many sign with new teams, but that also aligns with another problem which is the depth on the team is already terrible. And if Chicago really wants to structure the team for a championship like Florida or Vegas you need developed established players in the league who can play all sides in order to succeed in the playoffs and Chicago is nowhere near that anywhere. Now free agency change both situations but nobody on Chicago plays the way bedard does except for maybe reichel and that sticks bedard and the hawks right into complete mediocrity, and that’s IF bedard can carry the entire team on his back right out the gate. Which has not gone to plan for the most recent 1st round picks.

Not really sure what you’re talking about here. The only signings of consequence they have to make are Kurashev and Regula. And yeah they have no depth, they just finished year 1 of a rebuild. They tore it down to the studs and sold off anything of value. They’re not expecting Bedard to carry them anywhere for at least 2 or 3 years. That’s why they’ve loaded up on draft capital over the next 3 years.
