Well this 20 man roster isn't cap compliant. Leafs can deal with Murray or his buyout but certainly don't want Anderson at 4.5 X 4 years. Rather keep Timmins that adding cap for Goodrow,

Anderson is still valuable to MTL and our GM made it clear that JA is going to cost a 1st + without being retained. If teams don't like it then we'll keep him. He put up 21 goals on a crappy MTL team and he's a good power forward. Not the best contract but he's for sure not a cap dump at this point in time.

Only in your head Josh Anderson is a cap dump, Hughes already declined a 1st for Anderson and he scored 21 goals in 69 games last season
And he was very good the 2nd half of the season, so his stock didn't drop

Lawson Crouse is making 4.5mill a year with a career high of 45 points, I think 2 prospects and a couple picks isn't to bad, I agree I could have added more but I wouldn't call it a poor offer

Nothing like giving up a 1st round pick to turn your 1 year contract issue (Murray) into a 4 year contract issue (Anderson).

Leafs have no interest in that Josh Anderson contract. Even at 4.5M he's overpaid.

You clearly don't watch Anderson play. Plus Goodrow has and has had way better linemates then Anderson has ever had and he still put up 21 goals in 68 games. Plus Anderson is Big, Fast, And loves to throw the body around. We'll just keep him if nobody want's. 100% not an issue for MTL

And I'm not saying goodrow is worth a lot but how can you in your right mind say Anderson is worth a 1st +

When what wizardry should be used to gauge values? Patches was a cap dump because vegas wants a new shiny toy every off-season

MTL have no reason to trade Anderson, he fits our top 6, he scores goals, plays a gritty game and protect the youngster
Why would we trade him ? It's not like young players were pushing him out of the top 6

Connor Garland got traded from Arizona to Vancouver for a 1st, a 2nd and a 7th and that was with OEL in the trade.
