Hawks would probably consider this. Not convinced Hawks give up a 2nd for Boeser but the value on this seems pretty good for both sides.

This is a bad trade for VAN. No need to give up Boeser to dump OEL.
IMO, OEL+11OA for Blackhawks '23 2nd.

Not the #35, probably a mid 2nd rounder

Hawks are a rebuilding team that can take on a bad contract for 4 years. Nucks are giving up the 11OA pick in a stacked draft to dump that contract, if your goal is to move up, then (to quote the Mandolorians), this is the way. I'd be 100% cool with the trade if VAN could get Andrew Cristall. If we move out of the top 20, that would be my target.

Add in VAN's 2024 1st with top 10 protection and CHI accepts.

Cool. Cuz a single first, even 11th overall, isn't enough to dump that contract. MAYBE with retention, but I'm guessing you aren't willing to do that.

A lot to pass up on knowing OEL is cap plug over the next little bit when Chicago won't be doing anything but stock piling assets. Canucks like to do things like this, not many other teams do. Not many opportunities like this would come around.

Yeah. I mean, if CHI did this I wouldn't blame them, but I would feel like it was significantly light on payment. He has a $7.26M cap hit for four years with a total salary owed of $29M, with this year being $10.5M salary, though. It is way too much for just that pick while also taking on Boeser, whom I don't think is a dump but I also don't value him very highly, and sending back a 2024 2nd round pick. It's a lot. That 11th overall pick could possibly prove to be worth it in a few years, though, depending on who is available and how they turn out. But, I think CHI would need significantly more compensation than that.

I don't typically worry about actual salary owed. Not my $ lol. Teams do all kinds of stuff. Chicago has money so they could pull it off. But I get your reasoning.

For sure. Teams worry about money, though. So, the way i see it, in order to create realistic proposals, we have to consider all the variables that they do.
