Your Nylander offer gets beat and you need a player to sell tickets, you currently don't have that player

the reason the Bruins would trade Ullmark would be to free up cap. this does the opposite of that

Don't know if Ullmark would waive for CBJ. On top of that, Merzlikins cost $400k more than Ullmark. This doesn't help Boston shed cap, which would be the whole reason to move Ullmark.

What in the world is going on here. McCann is great, but not a 1C and certainly not worth losing Jenner+ over.

CBJ don't have the money to extend Nylander. They have enough already comitted to their top wingers with extensions due soon for Johnson and Marchenko.

Hanafin is not needed with the adding of Provorov. Babcock generally likes to keep his pairs aligned with righties and lefties.

Ullmark is not worth mortgaging the rest of the future on, even without the Nylander move. He played behind the best defense in the league last year. Merzlikins played behind the worst. With the d improved, CBJ should give him another shot before paying heavily to move his contract - and if doing that, BOS isn't the team to send him to.

McCann is almost certainly unavailable. If he was, that's not even close to what Seattle would need to consider parting with him.

You're almost $5 million over the cap, among other things.

I don't think Seattle has any interest in moving on from McCann.

Did he? This year the Bruins ranked....

SA - 9th
xGA - 3rd
SCA - 11th
HDCA - 10th

Top 10 defense? sure, but not the best defense in the NHL. Lets also not pretend like he wasn't good the year before when Boston was a wild card team. His first year in Boston, Ullmark ranked 9th in SV% and 7th in GAA among all NHL goalies with at least 30gp.

Not enough... You did see how many people were going to CBJ games from JAN-MAR, right? They need a player that they can cater towards the casual fan, so he surprises his kid(s) to a Columbus NHL game in February so they don't turn out to be the second coming of the Arizona Coyotes. If I were CBJ, I would be going to Chicago/Anaheim for their pick/going after a franchise player to draw hype from casual fans, because they are the ones that can make or break an organization.

Columbus has some great players, yes. But, they don't have any "must-watch" players and William Nylander isn't that guy

What braindead take. Attendance wasn't great mid season because 75% of the starting roster was on IR. They still averaged just under 17k/game on the season and sold out about 25% of their games including 8 or 9 from February to April. Gaudreau, Laine, Johnson, Werenski, Marchenko, and Texier all have plenty of ability to get people out of their seat for entertaining hockey and they'll be adding the best player they've ever drafted this summer in either Carlsson or Fantilli. What they need is to start winning and they'll be averaging 18k+ in no time.
