Id have to consider that heavily from nashvilles perspective. Luca looks like a very promising player, Chinakhov looks good too. Elvis either rebounds or gives us another good 1st round pick next season plus some other picks from cbus

The unprotected 1st from CBJ is awfully tempting. Taking Elvis for that long gives me pause.

We could stop gap him for a year or two until we need Askarov to start playing, we can hope he puts up average+ numbers then we can flip him to a team in need of a goalie.

Peeke has a +/- of -41! That's the best in the NHL, the next player on CBJ is a -32... let that sink in.

I get the Jackets were bad last season, but I wouldn't take him off your hand if you attached a 2nd round pick with him. Zadorov also has value, he's far from a cap dump. I'd rather just keep him than make this mistake of a trade.

My only hesitations are Luca and Elvis. That said, I don't know enough about Luca to speak on him. Sillinger has created some interest in my eyes and if he was in here I'd be more inclined to take on Elvis for that long.

I don't think it's unfounded to suggest Vegas loses another good player for super cheap because they need to make the cap work, but if it comes to that, there will be others on the chopping block before Karlsson. But, if they did move Karlsson for that reason, there'd be at least some semblance of a real offer for him rather than a couple nothing assets.
