I reaaally hope not one of those two. Cat fell off this season and Trotz wants to develop our young guys on the fly. Said he wants to take a step back before we take a step forward.

      Plus, we need centers.

Not if Elliotte Friedman is to be believed, he said Detroit is the prohibited front runner for ADB.

That's about as trusted of a source as some guy on twitter with 3 followers. Not every player is going to Michigan guy.

I'd rather just not go after Debrincat. He obviously wants to go to Detroit, and they can easily beat that offer. I'd think a 2023 1st and Cross Hanas+

FIlip Forsberg's wife's best friend's mom is from Detroit. That obviously where he wants to be.

He has Nashville on his list of team he wants to go to so I would disagree. And they have lower tax so it’s great. And he’s young

I mean ideally I’d want a player to plug into the middle 6 with potential. You guys seem to have a lot of them

Yeah only because Nashville is still within 700 miles of Detroit so it's close. But Detroit is still his #1 destination childhood team and it's just been mentioned that he wants to play for Detroit.

I'd rather give up Afanasyev in a Debrincat trade. He has the potential to be a 2LW

Afanny has like 0 offensive upside. Dude is brutal with the puck. BUT he's massive and could turn into a defensive monster. I'd give him up over Tomasino or Evangelista

I can’t see Dorion wanting him tbh. I mean you’re upgrading Evangelista or Tomasino to Debrincat and next year you get Kemell into the lineup

I'm convinced he has the shot to be a lethal goal scorer. He just isn't able to create those shots himself. Putting him with a good playmaker could be really beneficial for him

Evangelista is a stud. I know this sounds borderline crazy, but I'd rather have him than Debrincat. I just love his crazy offensive upside, and he isn't bad on D either

I'm not like completely opposed to Cat, but it still leaves a gaping hole down the middle. If we're trading for Cat it means Trotz wants to push for a cup this year, and we can't do that with Glass as our 1C

I don’t think he should this year but I mean I think you either have to push it in the next few years with Saros or you move Saros and keep accumulating assets

DeBrincat would fit right in, NSH is where high end offensive forwards get paid 8M for 60pts. I thought last year was going to be the start of a new NSH but I'm guessing it's because Josi was just producing a ton. At least Forsberg and Duchene were scoring at 70+ pace.

If only Dubois was interested, would be the prototype while fulfilling the C role.

Trotz is looking to change that. Wants to draft actual top end talent and get younger and faster.
There's a reason I don't want Cat on this team lol. You're essentially paying 8-9m for "He's scored 40 before!".

He will usually tell people that if a player was born within a 9000000km radius of Michigan, he 100% wants to play in Detroit and nowhere else.

We are also eating up all our free cap while neglecting the real area of need for the team (center). Only real trade id be willing to do for debrincat involves duchene going back the other way.
