Doubtful Boeser for Kuz would be a straight swap. That said, would rather just run it back with Boeser and Myers than bring in Clifton to be top pair as the end result. Maybe another UFA would be intrigued by the idea of pairing with Hughes.

I feel like both fan based would not be happy with this trade if it happens but it would possibly work out for both teams. Idk.

Seriously cant see the Canucks paying 31 year old Kuzy 7.8 million to play third line center.Boesser is younger with more upside in the future
IMHO.

I want to say Matt Dumba 5x5 but I think it would be closer to 6.

They really should keep Boeser but I think even if he does great, he's gone after that contract if not traded before it ends. Kuznetsov is definitely not what they need.

Can't see the hawks being intrigued by a 4th to take on 6 mil in cap.

Dumb a near 6 is just another huge blunder waiting to happen.

I know, the only hope is that they don't have the cap to overpay, so that they are forced to offer him a "we really want you, but this is all we got" deal. I think he would be a great fit. He probably finds his game especially if the expectations of him a lower, say if he signs in the 4s vs ~6M. Maybe giving him 4.5M*7 wouldn't be a bad idea (if the cap structure allows it).

It will take more than a 4th to unload $6m in cap this off-season, sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, Hawks have a logjam at RD. Between Jones Murphy and Zaitsev already signed for next year, and RFA RD’s Mitchell + Caleb Jones (RD/LD I think) possibly getting re-signed. We would have nothing to do with Myers’ contract

Either give up more value to get rid of him (2nd rd pick or swapping VAN 1st w Tampa’s 1st), or just buy out his contract

I definitely think Myers costs more to move that cap hit. I actually somewhat like (a tiny amount) this Kuznetsov move as a kind of high risk play for Van hoping he bounces back to a couple years back, but ultimately I think it's best to just stay with the guy you know who will cost you less on the cap and you know is decent in the room and has good character.

A $6M cap hit is still a $6M cap hit, no matter how you slice it. The bonus being paid certainly helps, but not this much. Also, the only reason CHI would be interested in taking the Myers contract is if VAN doesn't want to pay his bonus and is willing to pay us assets that actually help our rebuild. Getting to the cap floor is not an issue that requires desperation in order to address.

Agreed - both teams would decline this.

Who knows what direction the Canucks are going. Don't think Kuzy fits them either.

Can't see the Caps spending $6.5m on an overpaid winger who has never scored over 60 points. I'd rather just resign Brown for a 1 year team-friendly deal and go after a true top-6 winger (using current picks, prospects, and whatever picks come back from Kuzy).
