Staal probably does a 1 or 2 year deal and Soucy gets better offers.

I'd stay away from Hertl, contract likely won't age well and a lot to give up. Don't mind the other trades although I don't think they're too realistic.

Wait for the Caps Fans to come in with their pitch forks ...... (annoying voice) Tom Wilson isnt on the block. Otherwise i see your vision i dont know about some of them but that would help your team if they could do it.

In my opinion Necas just has to get moved, we could possibly get more elsewhere but my vision is a consistent 2C. I love KK, but he is a glorified Jordan Staal, meant for that 3C defensive role. Necas doesn’t fit our system no matter how good he is and he’d flourish somewhere else. If there is an option of a proficient 2C in the league, i’d love to hear where and if he’s on the trade block.

Lindholm. Could also do PLD but that’s more a rental option in my mind.

The Caps GM said they want him to be a Cap for life, Wilson's said he wants to be a Cap for life, the most connected local writer Tarik El-Bashir has said he expects him to re-sign, and Friedmann said on his podcast today that he reached out about Wilson and was told emphatically that the Caps view him as a core part of the team and won't be moving him. There's been about as much confirmation that Wilson's not on the block as you could possibly get. What else do you want us to say? Proposals with him in them are a waste of time, but they make up probably 1/3 to 1/2 of the Caps trades proposed by non-Caps fans on this site, and have for years now. It gets pretty obnoxious.

Hawks probably consider this. Drury is worth a 3rd in my opinion. Only reason Hawks might balk is his skating. But he has a lot of traits teams want and he'd get NHL ice time right away in Chicago.
