Not sure what thr funniest part of that Parayko trade is, but let's be novel: nobody is eating 8M and clogging a retention spot for eight years for a measly 3rd.

Chicago rejects. The Arizona trade is a ripoff for PIT.

I don't see any 3rd party team retaining for 8 years for only a 3rd, your probably looking at giving up a 1st for a team to have that retention. Then I don't see the blues retaining for 8 years as well.

There is a negative 100 % chance that Chicago rejects that. They would jump on that like white on rice. They’re moving up in the draft, taking on a contract (like they said they would) and being compensated for it. You’re not moving up in the 1st round without parting with the 19th overall pick.

Trading a 1st for a goalie with 1 good-ish season is a ripoff? It's a massive OVERPAY.

These trades universally favor the other team. Pit won't do any of them.

Absolutely. I'm not sure he would be any measurably better than DeSmith. If trading a first for a goalie it needs to be a highly probable sure thing.

Take out the tampa 1st, poj, and puustinen. Dumping over 12 mil in cap costs a lot more than a few spots in the first round.

The amount of assets you're giving up to go from Petry to Parayko doesn't seem worth it to me.

That Arizona trade is a nightmare for the Pens
