Next year Dvorak, Savard and maybe Kovacevic depending on Mailloux eligibility timeline.

Best part about that first line is that any other team could just roll out a bunch of 200+ lb dudes and knock all the floppy hair off their heads.

They're all great players, but they're better off teaming up to watch F1.

hahahaha He aint wrong
Pretty much where the idea came from

Could always adapt it so they play PP together and each has a goon
But im too lazy for that and still prefer Turcotte /Caufield to Hughes/Caufield (bigger sample size )

Habs don’t have the pieces to bid on either guy…either of whom would immediately become their most valuable non-goalie in decades.

Permission was never asked for ,Assessment of Value was
These Forums are to discuss The Value of FICTIONAL Trades.
Why people feel the need to show up and not talk about something is astounding .
I can imagine you are Comicon walking around going "wizards are lame , dwarfs are stupid and Knights are Cliche" lol

Well the value of the fictional trades you created make it an easy no for ever team not named Montreal. Lmao

Underpay for Zegras for sure. Hughes.....yeah, the might be a trade if Hughes was on a rebuilding team, but not for contending Jersey. Be interesting about Slafkovsly.....is he going to worth his anywhere near his high selection in last years draft?

The Habs could give us there next 3 first round picks, Slafkovsky, and Caufield and I still wouldn’t trade Hughes

Jack might be a top 5 untradable asset in the NHL with his contract

Hughes breakdown
Slafkovsky (1st OA last year)
Matheson(top pair Dman)
Beck(1st pick in the 2nd round but making teams regret it)
Top 5 pick
Chance at a top 5th to likely 20th OA next year
2nd round pick and Conditional 1st if converted its CGY pick so TBD where it will fall(could be top 20 , could be 32nd OA i got no feel for this GM yet)

Thats a lot of Quality in the higher end of the 1st round

It's also a top 3 asset in hockey (Mcdavid and ....?)

No reason for the Devils to do this. Not enough or good enough pieces to get Hughes.

Alright so thats the threshold for value of Marketability
Makes sense ours is if you're an Alcoholic you're gone which is ironic given our Owners lol

Bob Murray was not employed when Milano was released. Verbeek was GM

Ok ?
So Bob value's Marketability and Verbeek doesnt ?
Or what was the context of the statement im missing here?
Or is it like MB and Hughes where he moved MB guy Romanov out right away basically to make room for his guy Harris?

Are you on something? Do you need help?
Thats last years 1st OA for a 1st OA that took years to establish
So i'd expect NJD to be the last fanbase throwing shade on Slafkovsky Value given your journey here with Hughes

Why would the Devils, a top 3 team in the league, trade away the best player in this deal, and one of the top 10 best centers and players in the NHL, away from them?

For a supposed ****s and giggles thread, you're sure ****ting your pants over criticism over it.

I'll give you some time to try and understand the words. No rush.

Jack Hughes needed to lift weights and eat steak. Slafkovsky needs to skate better and think the game at a higher level. One of these things is easier to accomplish.

We seen Slaf with Slovaks/Czech's at camp loose and playing great
Without them as we have not a single NHL Slovak or Czech to talk to him
His English is very weak , His French is worse and he's an 18 year old NHL Rookie in a Billingual City that dont understand him.
If we still had someone like Tatar i think you woulda seen a different player all together.

I also think its why you'll see us end up going after a Slovak i Free Agency this year
With Kotkanemi we acquired his hometowns top guy Armia and he transitioned strong
Our mistake was leaving the training wheels on so long

This time we need a guy like Tatar for 1 year until Mesar's ready(Mesar has good english settled in playing Junior here first)

People always factor out the Transition time it takes to adjust to North America on and off ice.
Its why so few from Europe go 1st OA its almost guaranteed to be a Transition with Bumps in the Road.
Sundin spent a year in the AHL after drafted to adjust

What does any of this have to do with his skating or hockey IQ

My point is if everything is explained in 2 languages you dont speak how are you suppose to learn the system let alone thrive in it?
People pretend you just show up and skate but a lot goes into learning the system and how to exploit it

Not only did Slaf jump from big ice to small ice a NHL recognized struggle Europeans go through
But he had to forgo the benefit of the Coaches knowledge and Veterans Experience

We havent seen Slaf Comfortable in a system like the Olympics or WJC or on Big Ice
We just seen a guy struggling with the speed and physicality of the game cause when he hits back he gets ejected ,suspended or in the penalty box.
There's a disconnect that was clear cause when Mesar was there he struggled no where near as much

I mean Imagine if we judged Hughes on his Hockey IQ based on his first years play

But...Hughes's hockey IQ was fantastic in his first year of play. He just wasn't physically ready. It was extremely obvious from watching him that his feet, hands, and brain were as-advertised, he was just a boy among men.

Slaf's skating and IQ were the big knocks against him going into the draft and I think his rookie year further solidified those concerns. I'm not judging his IQ on his first NHL season. I'm judging based on his last 2.5 years of hockey, at all levels.

also, are you implying that Slaf is so big and strong that he can't hit people for fear of being penalized every single time?

Also you know the WJC and Worlds are on NHL ice now right?

I dont even know what to make of that Hughes trade. I dont see NJ trading Hughes anytime soon, but that is such a wild overpay they'd probably have to take it

They wouldn’t because it completely tanks their just now opening window. All of those pieces are exterior pieces anyways and none are sure things. And it’ll take most of them 3-5 years before they truly hit their strides. By then, the other good pieces the Devils have will be exiting their primes.

Purely from a value standpoint, maybe this is close to what Jack is worth but from a contending standpoint, it’s awful for us.

We did and we accurately saw that his hockey iq was insane and he was just physically immature and once he learned how to play in the league he would be a superstar in the league.
