Zero chance Winnipeg gives Dubois away for virtually nothing. It's not a competitive offer.

No Lube, No Dinner ... Just straight to it then?

Matheson - LTIR 4 times last year
Boqvist- LITR 3 times last year

Thats your top pairing ? . . . Yikes that worse then Markov-Subban for injuries, How many ECF or SCF did we make with both healthy again ?
Dcore went from 6'3 and 6'4 guys or bigger to 5'11 guys with 5'8 Hutson on his way
We're going to get wrecked with that Goaltending .

If i was PLD i wouldnt sign here if this is the team i was showing up to
Its one thing when you got D with size and youth to protect your Goalie, it helps the netminder
But a bunch of offensively minded mobile guys who shy away from shot blocking and hitting take away less shots
Its just built for Fantasy Hockey to collect points via individual success and not Team Success like in a playoff

Last years 27th OA pick in Mesar, this years 31st OA pick in a deep draft have value
you may not like the other pieces but dont lie about the offer not being competitive ,its beneath you
Norlinder finished the year strong and has regained a lot of value internally as he was struggling to adjust to Small Ice but seems fine now.
Dvorak is a dump for cap purposes.

While it coulda been 100% better
It coulda been a lot worse to as any deal with LAK will require WPG to RS and take back a contract to be cap compliant.
There's no world where you're not taking back a contract for PLD

You'll probably have to pay more if you want a team to take multiple years of Anderson. I know he isn't a terrible player by any means, but he's more of a dump if being sent to a rebuilder.

Sorry, but you're mistaken: two first rounders (Mesar and a late first in 2023) is reasonable compensation for a player the Jets CAN'T sign and who has jerked over the management of two years in six years. Norlinder will find a home. Dvorak is a decent roster player, but ... yes ... overpaid. Still, the cap isn't going to be a problem in WPG for a long time.

No you're not quite right.

Mesar is compensation for taking two years of dead cap in Dvorak.

Norlinder as an LHD has no value to Winnipeg.

The only piece with positive value is Florida's first, which is pretty much a 2nd.

So, this offer is a fraction of what the Jets get for PLD as a rental and the TDL and isn't adequate for a player that the Jets will have no problem trading this summer for pieces that that actually want.

Sorry, it's not a competitive offer.

Yeah, I laid out what the offer gives the Jets above.

Taking back cap isn't the issue taking back dead cap like Dvorak, without being paid to take it, is the issue. LA may send back cap, but it is better and actually useful cap compared to. what Montreal fans want to send back.

Any prospects/players that have been mentioned so far from LA are light years better than anything Montreal fans have offered. LA also has a better, more positionally suitable and deeper prospect pool to draw from.

That is the only thing stopping a MTL offer sheet in July with Winnipeg not opting for team arbitration. The Habs need to shed cap to fit in PLD with raises due next year and cap overages as theyll be in LTIR again with the Price contract along with the cap still in limbo for 2024.

2025 is where all the bad money comes off the books. Armia or Dvorak must be dealt in any PLD trade to make the salary work, the fact that Jets fan hasn't understood this on a salary cap site is wild!

The mental gymnastics..

"Florida's first, which is pretty much a 2nd."

as opposed to a contender trading a 2024 late 1st in worse draft isnt pretty much a 2nd this season and later year drafts picks always have lesser value when pushed down the road.

It's arguing to argue with this guy. Never makes a legitimate point.

An Emotionally Mature Adult would have said "you gotta RS 50% on Dvorak so he's not a negative asset."
He's a fine 3rd line Center for Faceoffs he's just overpaid

The offer sheet makes it easy. But even with PLD, the Habs are likely to be a lottery team in 2024, so do you really want to risk that pick being a top one and going to the Jets? It's a conundrum.

Depends on a few things like injuries.
but given since 2017 we've had atleat 3-4 regulars out by christmas consistently
yeah probably still a lotto team

I'd like us to take a run at Marcus Foligno for that very reason
Put him out there and people are afraid to try dirty crap as he's a true heavyweight who can rag doll tom wilson

No and they cant fit him in the cap in 2024. I just mention the offersheet because of many ppl here dont realize that the Habs easily can leverage it. PLD isnt returning more than a mid 1st, cap dump and a mid prospect. The Kings cant even fit PLD this season after they just gave away picks and assets to dump cap. Not to mention PLD isnt signing there long term. The best offer will always come from the Habs and they have the best prospect pool in the league along with two 1sts this season, the rest is just noise.
