Description
I think the Addison for picks deal is likely based on BG's comments to the press. The Gus move is a loser for the Wild but they're hands are tied w/ this cap space and if the deal is going to be too high there's no choice. Unfortunately, everyone know this so I think best we can hope for is 2 seconds in and a 3rd.. Idk if you can get anything for Goligoski but if his role isn't going to change I see him requesting a trade so best return.

For the Dumba signing this only happens if we can't sign Gus. It still requires Dumba to take a home town discount w/ full no move this year and a handshake extension in place for a 6-7yr deal at around 5. (I don't think this is allowed but it sure seems to happen a lot, Goligoski's ext was similar).

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (DET)
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (STL)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (VAN)
DET
  1. Addison, Calen [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Is this close to Addison's value? I know a lot of people in MN expect a 1st back but two seconds and swapping a second for a higher in a deep draft feels like it could be as good as a late first.
2.
MIN
  1. 2023 6th round pick (ANA)
ANA
  1. Goligoski, Alex
Additional Details:
It doesn't seem like Goligoski's role will change and he wants to play so moving him for best possible return
3.
MIN
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (CHI)
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (OTT)
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (CHI)
CHI
  1. Gustavsson, Filip [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This only makes sense if the Wild and Gus are way off on a number. The Wild can only afford to go to about 3.5 and put a team on the ice.

Way too much for Addison lmao. Don't think you get more than a 2nd, especially considering that Durzi went for a '24 2nd.

There is absolutely ZERO chance the Hawks send ANY of those pieces. Like none of them individually let alone all together.

I love how you comment on what needs to happen for this Gustavsson proposal to make sense for Minnesota and yet don’t even remotely consider if the deal makes sense for Chicago… spoiler alert, IT DOESN’T!

I think Addison brings back a pick in the 40-50 range this year and maybe a mid round pick. I do think there is a fit w/ DET for one of those 2nds.

Regarding Durzi, I see your logic and I would add that Durzi was a bit of a cap dump and is 3 years older than Addison. I think Durzi is the floor, not the ceiling for an Addison deal. Young, offensive minded D men go for about a 2nd and some change.

Thing is, it’s way too much for a goalie anyway. A 2nd would be higher than the average G with RFA status and some NHL success. I think Gus brings back a 3rd and maybe some other piece if it really comes to that.

Maybe a 2nd and some late pick; but not much more. Durzi was better, but offset by age and whatnot. Don't think the deals will be far off.

Right. I also think a 24 2nd is more valuable to LAK since they can move it at the TDL. But yeah, I’m expecting right around this return for Addison, even if I don’t wanna move him.

Chicago wouldn't trade ONE of those picks for Gus.

Chicago GM has stated he is fine with the goalies we have signed and is not looking to acquire another goalie.
